Great mountain guide, knows the best lines at the 'resorts' and some secret stashes if you don't mind climbing. Pat also went out of his way to make the trip great, driving hours each day, finding chilled out onsens en-route and he had back-up plans when the weather shut us down as it does often in that region. We worked hard for our turns on most days and Pat is happy keep going as long as you can. Really enjoyed every day.Planning next season already! On a cautionary note, we disturbingly saw a number of people heading into this terrain without any knowledge or practice in using avalanche self-rescue gear. Learning in the tram station is not learning. Most of these areas are not your normal ski-resort. You need a guide for Asahidake and Kurodake just to find a safe way down. These mountains can easily kill you and no patrol is coming to help so don't show up ignorant and unprepared - risking both your own life and the lives of others.
