For me, Pyongyang had several highlights. The circus was one of them. The athletic ability of these performers is on par with anything you might see at Cirque de Soleil. Absolutely amazing!

Arts are supported, as seen in this array of circus, synchronized swimming, live orchestra, lots of singing...no animals! So concept of circus is different. It did include a lot of nationalistic skits and songs...but then, so do our Memorial Day and 4th of July events!

A series of performances which push the possible to the limit and well justify the presence of the net for the trapezers. Highly recommended, the clowns between act set ups are very good.

A must see in this country/city of controlled attractions - forget the Cirque du Soleil or Moscow Circus!This is exciting, stunning, confronting and as other reviewers have said a welcome distraction from your continual 're-education' at other attractions.

Pyongyang Art Circus Show does not show everyday. So you have to ask the guide if you are interested in watch. It shows in Pyongyang Circus. The show is excellent. You will watch it with local people together. They have their own symphony orchestra. It is a worth watching.

the best thing in north korea is this circus. but it is painful to watch because if you get a good seat, like we did, you can see the pain and desperation in the performer's eyes. It is sad to see so much talent wasted in north korea. But after leaving it did make me appreciate my freedom so much more. The performers here are very kind. But be careful speaking to them or you will get them in trouble and trouble in north korea usually means bad things.

It was a good time visiting this place. The performance was quite impressive, and it was good to see that maily humans were used to perform. It was a littlebit cold, so if you are going there in the winter - remember to bring warm clothes!It was quite expensive visiting an performance.

Part of our group went to the circus, and part went bowling! The circus group loved it. They were afraid there would be a bunch of drugged mangy bears - not at all. Lots of people acts, no animals. Jugglers, magicians, acrobats. So it sounds great. Bowling was funny - am I really in North Korea at a bowling alley? Go figure!

the show was short but ok. It was a nice diversion from all the"dear leaders" statues and monuments.

Well worth seeing. A range of acrobatics, trapeze,, tightrope walking and illusion. Rather them than me!!!!

When we were told we were off to the circus I expected a tent and few animals. I was not ready for the extravaganza we witnessed. The theater was impressive enough with a retractable stage revealing an ice rink and we started off with a mind-boggling performance skaters juggling doves and skipping with a rope.Then came the truly amazing sight of an ice skating bear with two ice skating baboons jumping through hoops. From there we went on to more mundane circus fare such as plate spinning, and gymnastics – impressive stuff.The final act was a Cirque de Soleil type of thing, 6 men on an H frame. Not sure who came up with it first, but well done. Good show, but the bear did look a little mangy and worse for wear.

We were taken to the Pyongyang Circus. The acrobats were entertaining but I was very disgusted when they brought out a sad and emaciated dancing bear which was forced to ice skate. There were also a couple of baboons that was used for entertainment along with a number of doves and pigeons. I really object to using animals for entertainment and hope tourists will this circus.

It was a very impressive show but the place was literally freezing - if you go in winter wrap up!
