Fairly isolated with a great view on the cliffs, the sea can be rough so caution is advised. Great for groups to get togeather.

Definitely worth the drive to take in the beautiful views of this beach with tall, swaying palm trees along the edge. There are stairs to take to get down to the beach where we found a couple of local vendors selling some trinkets. Enjoyed speaking with one of them who shared other places to go. I love the local people as they are truly so nice. No chairs for rent as the beach is one more for beauty than for swimming. Be sure to walk to the edge of the cliffs on the parking level to get some pictures.

We chose this as our first Barbados beach to drive to for the sunrise. With our GPS we found it easily. There is an unmarked parking area. There are stairs going down to the beach. We were the only ones there, but there is evidence of platforms, lounger chairs chained to trees etc, that there may be vendors or chair rentals on weekends?? It is very picturesque. No toilets or showers. Swimming only for the brave (or foolish?!). A cave towards the one end of the cliff line.Back up at the parking lot, walk to the cliff edge for great views. Follow the cliff towards the right for a nice walk and then another great beach - Harrismith Bay. There is a great old abandoned home to explore and stairs leading down to this beach. This beach even more remote as it is not advertised. (see my pictures)A great way to start our morning, with a couple hours wandering around these beaches and area.

We had the pleasure of staying nearby. This beach is just breathtaking. A real gem. It is isolated, which means little tourists. The water is an amazing colour, the beach is surrounded by coral cliffs and the tall palm trees sway with the wind. Yes, the waves are massive and this is not a place for swimming, but the atmosphere is really special. Would recommend a visit - you can also check out the two nearby beaches (Harrismith beach you can walk to from the Bottom Bay parking lot - go right (west)) that have a similar atmosphere, but are even more deserted!!

The most stunningly beautiful beach I have ever seen and our party had the entire beach to ourselves for most of the day. We saw about 5 other people come and go throughout the day. If you go to Barbados tou must spend a day at Bottom Bay.

Bottom Bay is without a doubt one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Tom and I think it stands tall with any beach on any island. It is not over run with the tourist crowd. Go there to relax and soak in the real beauty and the real reason for traveling to the Caribbean!

Nice and quiet, beautiful beach. Large waves, no swimming. Very picturesque. Vendors on the beach were very kind and friendly.

Bottom Bay is a beautiful beach on the Atlantic side, or Windward side of the island. The coconut palms are mature and beautiful on this beach, which is usually U crowded. A great place for a picnic.

We stopped at Bottom Bay because I had heard it was more secluded and less busy. What I didn't realize was also that there was a cave that fave you a glimpse into the old coral reefs that eventually made the island. If you have the time make sure to stop here.

Crashing Atlantic surf, warm water, cliffs, hot sand, driftwood BBQ of breadfruit. And fresh rum punches from green coconuts. You get the picture.

If you want a beautiful secluded beach to sit on this is the place for you. We had it almost entirely to ourselves. As other reviewers have said it is a bit tricky to find. We ended up at the wrong spot on the coast and had to ask the way. The man we asked explained that the problem following the map is that a church, where according to the map you should turn right,is actually shown in the wrong place on the map. When we were there a local guy was climbing the palms to gather coconuts and cutting the ends off so you could drink the milk. Very entertaining but quite a dangerous activity. As others have said watch the huge waves rolling in and do not swim here.

This is a pure gem on the East Coast of Barbados, been there many times on my visits to Barbados.Rough sea,and you have to be a strong swimmer, but just a tropical amayzing place to visit, and a must in my view, have the beach to yourself,or just a handful of people at anytime, plus a few locals selling coconuts,etc..If you have a hire car,get a map,and if you get lost a local will direct you.Sign post from main road to two " Bottom Bay ".

It is a wonderful spot off the beaten track which is very quiet compared to neighbouring crane beach. The sea tends to get very rough and there is no lifeguard on duty so I have never waded in!

We are staying in maxwell and took the bus to bridgetown and then another to bottom bay (we had to ask which bus as it wasnt clear) all lovely friendly staff. The bus trip was a good way to mix with locals and see real barbados if a bit bumpy at times. We were told which stop to get off at by a lady sitting close to us and which way to walk to the beach. It was a lovely walk through locals roads beautiful countryside. The actual beach is very pretty but i've seen far better, the sand is not pink and it is very small, the waves are big but there were still a couple of people swimming.. We come from cornwall and have colder but prettier beaches there. Saying that i would still recommend as its peaceful and feels remote and tropical. But take the bus trip for the whole experience. The walks along the cliffs are stunning. Not as stunning as the reviews i had read about i.

A really lovely spot. Don't come if you want too much company. It's a small beach but very few people know about it. That's the bonus! It is difficult to find, it doesn't have amenities and the sea is less suited to swimming so probably not what kids are looking for but ....... It's idyllic views from the cliff top and from the beach make it worth a visit as you continue your tour around the island. The local bar is nothing more than a coconut vendor who will add a tot of rum to add to the experience. If it's unadulterated Caribbean you're looking for, this is it! If your of a critical nature, don't come. Nowhere is perfect but this takes some beating. We look forward to our next rum & coke on this beach!
