相对于喧闹的皇后镇，我更喜欢安静、美丽的瓦纳卡，如果你也像我一样，希望远离都市的喧嚣浮躁，我想你会喜欢这里。小镇不是很大，但足够你徒步走走。没有拥挤的人流，特别是吵闹的旅行团，可以坐在湖边的咖啡馆里面发发呆，或者在湖边散步，喂喂海鸟。也可以去i-site预定一些探险节目，跳伞或者乘坐直升机去看看峡湾的风景或者冰川着陆。

Wanaka 是一个小镇。第一次来到Wanaka是去Queenstown的时候经过，当时也许天气不是很好，四周山上的草都枯了。因此，第一印象不是很好。后来为了Skydiving，再度回到Wanaka这个地方。走了一圈，完全爱上这里的宁静与美丽。雪山还有湖中倒影，宛如仙境一般。早晨起来，看到云雾还湖中飘荡，非常美丽。环绕着湖慢慢走，可以拍到很多不同角度的照片。是一个山明水秀的好地方！

Wanaka很美，碧蓝的湖水，艳阳高照玩，躺在湖边的草地晒太阳或者沿着湖堤徒步或者三五好友坐在湖边玩或者情侣依偎着在草地上私语，都是那么的棒！而小镇又不会像tekapo那么沉闷，这里有好吃的餐馆，有豪华的湖边住宿，也有便宜的青年旅馆，晚上的酒吧可以满足你喜好热闹的因子，而穿过主街来到湖边，望着星空，又立刻脱离了嘈杂的尘世，这一刻宁静只属于你！太美了！

我们此行是先到的wanaka，从西岸过去，一下子到这里会感觉非常美。躺在湖边的码头上或者沙滩上，享受阳光从雪山上斜照下来，美美地睡上一觉，绝对放松。（稍微注意点防晒就好）

Stayed here as part of touring South Island NZ more laid back than Queenstown but still cool!There is plenty to keep you busy plus good places too eat and drink. Will be back.

We didn't like Wanaka.After four nights at Lake Tekapo, Wanaka suffers being compared to Tekapo.There is too much people, traffic, noise for such a small village.Fortunately, there are some gorgeous mountains around from where you can admire the lake without being disturbed by the crowds.

The town is compact and there is plenty to see and do. Puzzling World is a great place for all ages to spend a few "how does that work?" hours. The scenery across the lake is outstanding.

A brilliant small town on the shore of a beautiful lake, plenty of good bars and restaurants to compliment the array of hotels and motels. Plenty to do and see at a slower pace than the frenetic Queenstown. An ideal place to have a quiet few days enjoying the scenery.

when we stayed in Wanaka it was very busy preparing for the triathlon so parking got tricky! it is a beautiful place with the lovely lake framed by mountains and willow trees right by the beach. there are plenty of places to eat and we loved The Spice Room which is tucked away but still very popular.

Unlike Queenstown with it's frenetic tourist hustle Wanaka offers many things to do and see without the feeling of being rushed through your holiday. The mountains, lake and compact village provide ample opportunities to choose you recreation and culinary delight or just kick back and relax. I was fortunate to enjoy the entire month of February in Wanaka with many side trips and hope to return soon.

We stayed with family in Wanaka and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountains and farmlands. Lake Wanaka is beautiful as are the lakes around Wanaka. Saw snow on the peaks of the mountains. This would be a beautiful place to live permanently. Quiet but with plenty to do - golf, boating, extreme sports nearby.

Really nice town, the river is all around you and it's so beautiful! Interesting walking along the river path, with lots of stones with information and dates about people of interest from all over the world don't miss it! Fabulous for food too! lovely little restaurants very friendly locals too!!We had went on a helicopter trip with Wanaka Helicopters it was amazing!! Would love to go again sometime!
