If you are in Queenstown and are short on time why not try The winery! Here you can sample a wide range of wines mainly white wine, but a wide range of Pinot noir is available. Also available are some sparkling wines, whiskys and a small range of bottled beers is also available. This is great with friends or by yourself, with a varity of cheese boards available and helpful and knowledgable staff to help you pick out the wine for you, you will leave inspired. You are given a card which you simply insert into the wine dispenser and you select the amount of wine you want and hand in the card at the end and pay for what you have tasted. Enjoy! Luke Wing

80+ wines available and you can taste as many as you'd like (as long as your budget can handle it). Most of the 1-ounce tastes are between 3-4 dollars with many excellent choices in that range. A few of the more expensive wines are worth it, but you could easily have 10-15 great tastings in all the lower ranges, since there are so many great choices. They have a large Pinot Noir section, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Reisling & Gerwurztraminer, International (Syrah, Cab, Merlot), and Whiskey (!!) You could try 2-3 wines in each section and still be under 50 bucks. They have a great staff that can make recommendations, comfortable leather chairs, and even a cheese/meat platter selection if you want to eat while tasting. A very fun and easy 1-2 hour visit and a must-do people that love wine!

I stopped at The Winery three times in my four day stay in Queenstown. The atmosphere is like stopping into a nice mountain lodge. It surprising that this cute wine shop is attached to the mall. The wine is organized by varietal and driest to sweetest. The staff is very helpful in assisting you to the best spot to start your wine experience. You can also trade in your tasting glass for wine glasses to match the varietal at no cost. Overall, I would have given this place a five, but there was a problem with my credit card. A store worker got very flustered and did not know how to deal with the store mistake. Ultimately, management made it right and delivered a complimentary bottle of wine to my hotel. I returned to the store the next day and bought a case of wine to ship home.I am sad that I didn't get to visit the wineries on the South Island, but this is a great option to taste all the great wines the South Island has to offer. The meat and cheese plates looked wonderful, but I did not have the chance to try it. Ultimately, if you are a wine lover, this place is a must!

We went to the Winery for a bite and some wine tasting after taking the gondola ride in Queenstown and we were very pleased we did. They have great platters of charcuterie and cheeses to accompany wines, and we absolutely loved the self-serve concept of tasting, as we could all taste the type of wine that we wanted to and pay whatever the tastings cost individually, instead of having to taste the wines that were chosen for us. This is a great way to experience wine tasting if you can't get out to all of the wineries (who has time to try all of them?). We wish this concept was available everywhere!

Wonderful bar to taste many of the different wines in the region. Comfortable chairs, staff very knowledgable and helpful. We also had the shared meat and cheese platter which was excellent value and tasted wonderful. Highly recommend a visit here if you are into wines or if you just want a trendy place to have a wine and chat.

The Winery is always one of our first recreational stops, when holidaying in Queenstown. Not only do they have a great range of the good grape stuff, but the wine sampling setup is a brilliant way to get an update of the latest and best wines around the region. The staff are also little gemstones, providing that extra insight and knowledge to enhance the visit. The sampling set up enables 3 sizes of a taste, from a simple small taste to a thorough guzzle. At the end of the day we find a bit of timing and sifting of the grapes here can save a lot of running around the region. We will be back next year.

A great way to spend an afternoon. You set yourself up with a wine card and pay at the end in our case. You choose between 25ml, half or full glass for most wines and the prices for each option reflects the bottle price. You insert the card and select the size of the tasting for the particular wine you choose. We tried whites and several varieties of reds in the 25ml before deciding on a glass of Pinot noir each. We ordered the petit cheese platter which was actually huge and more than enough for two people. The chairs there are very comfortable and it's lovely sitting back indulging on cheese and wine! You can buy wines there and they ship internationally. We ended up going to a bottle shop later on and buying a couple of the wines we loved for a significantly cheaper price. All in all a lovely way to spend an afternoon, just keep an eye on your spend as you go (this gets displayed each time you insert your card and also after you purchase each tasting).

First of all I am not a lover of shopping, however as we had walked around for some time in Queenstown, both of us were feeling fairly tired. My wife suggested we go for a glass of wine, before heading back to the hotel. Looking at the leaflet at the entrance to the winery, I was not sure what to expect. The staff explained how to enjoy the experience, they asked my wife's preference and selected several small tasting samples for her to try. She explained that once you find the one you enjoy, you can refill it as many times as you like. I chose to try the Malt whisky's from New Zealand. There is such a selection of wines and whisky's available you are in fact spoilt for choice. I think it is made even better by the ambience of the place. It draws you in and encourages you to relax in the comfy chairs and appreciate the surroundings. We spent just short of 2 hours here, I would have stayed longer, but we were up early the following day for a long drive. I would say, compromise on the shopping and both enjoy a good bottle in excellent surroundings before heading back to your accommodation

What a great way to spend an afternoon. Huge choice of wines and really great concept , lovely knowledgeable staff & they have a good range of food platters available. You can easily spend a couple of hours here.Depending on the budget you can try as many wines as you want from the extensive selection availabe. Very sociable too, met some great people with like minded interests & you don't have to be a wine buff, just like wines. Nothing to dislike here.

Wonderful place! Large selection of New Zealand wines and whiskey available to taste. Plenty of room, chairs and tables to enjoy the experience, as well as cheese platters available to pair with wines. We had a very knowledgeable staff member help us with choices, and loved everything he recommended.
