在南岛开车经过许多湖，到Te Anau的时候，感觉这里的湖光山色和纽西兰其他地方相较之下并不算特别漂亮，没有Lake Wakatipu那么蓝，也没有Lake Tekapo那么美，但是沿着湖岸走的时候还是可以感觉到这是个很安静而缓慢的小镇。

只是在去米尔福德峡湾的路上经过Lake Re Anau，但被它的静憩所打动，阳光，白云，山峰，湖水，野鸭，组成一副仙境般的画卷。让人只想融入画卷成为其中的一道风景。建议在Te Anau停留一晚，仔细体会宁静安逸的生活态度。

Having travelled all the way to Te anau and making arrangements to stay for three nights, the lake itself was a bit disappointing or maybe my expectations were too high. It is the second largest lake and the lakeside walk for 5 kms was not too spectacular. The boating activities were minimal and generally was a bit dull. Other than Milford and doubtful sound trips there is nothing much else to do, as it was very cold also, even it being summer. So I left on the third day itself instead of on the fourth day.

The lake is pure and still. Plenty of birdlife to be seen and you can walk along the shore for miles. close to the city centre at one point and the visitor centre is on the shoreline

Lake TeAnau is absolutely beautiful. The grounds around the lake were clean and well maintained by the city.

There is so much to do here, float plane rides, visit the glow worm caves, cruise along the lake or just relax on the grassy banks and watch the world go by.

Nice place, beautiful lake. Recommend that you go there. Lots of great sightseeing, bush walks, not many sandflies, great restaurants. Recommend REAL JOURNEYS for boat trips Milford and Doubtful Sounds. Very professional outfit and great tour guides and boats and buses

On a walk along the lake-shore away from the town one can enjoy a very peaceful, easy walk with beautiful views. I didn't encounter anybody and enjoyed not only the quietness, but also some interesting wildlife.

NZ is studded with lakes and this is one of the many beautiful ones. A regular coach stops with the usual snack bar and gift shops and of course, toilettes!

Another beautiful place to hangout by in the evening. Can pack a small picnic lunch, walk by the shore, relax and enjoy your meal by the sunset.

This is another beautiful lake in the Fjordland region of the South Island. There is space to walk along the shore. Te Anau, the town, goes right up to the shore so if you get out of town a little you can really enjoy the peacefulness.

A beautiful lake in a country that is, lets face it, full of the things. Very nice and well worth a visit.

Lake Te Anau is brilliant and there is simply no other word for it. It is a vast expanse of water and we can walk around it (for the parts that I chose to walk). The place is idyllic and like a scene from picture post cards. In fact it is like a series of picture post cards.

Just a lovely place to visit. If going to Milford Sound have to go through Ta Anau so definitely worth a stop

On a clear day, absolutely beautiful views and walks around the lake. Interesting fact boards around the lake and a small bird sanctuary made the lake area very interesting. The town was less interesting and unless we needed to return for hiking or for trips we would not return
