海豹,海豹,离人很近的海豹。很壮观。不过,这儿的海豹不是很活跃——它们是来这儿休息的。推荐大家去远一点的地方看小海豹,如果有机会的话。

这里最棒的地方就是瀑布顶部,真是棒极了。我简直不敢相信,那里有很多海豹宝宝,在那么高的水流上。大概10分钟就能轻松步行到达那里,但是一行要达到顶部,这样才能让你难以忘怀。我们都不想回来啦。真想带上午餐,在这里坐上一整天,那将多么令人愉快。

这是必须要做的。在路上停车看岩石上的海豹但是你一定要走到瀑布那里看下小幼崽。就是10分钟的路然后你就能看到瀑布,有100多只非常非常可爱的小幼崽在水塘和岩石上玩。它们很好奇,会走到你身边的。可爱到我都快哭了!!

没见过海狮的可以来看看，见多了就觉得一般般了。旁边的徒步道不错，可以往山上走走。在海水落潮的时候可以沿海边走过去，风景不错。

由于天色还早，我们就直奔seal colony，开始还找半天没看到，以为退潮了，他们都下海了。后来发现他们就和石头一样的躺着，是很难被发现的。由于它们都是野生的，所以，别靠得太近。而我们很幸运的是在要离开的时候，有一只小海豹正在往海边走，就一蹦一跳的到某小妞身前了，还停下来对视，可把某小妞乐坏了。

Walked out to this site on the recommendation of our motel. A lovely walk along the ocean front to the colony. We had an opportunity to see seals close up in the wild (no closer than 10m). This is a unique experience, as it is easily accessible, and the seals are right there! Do not miss this!

Definitely worth the stop. There is a brown highway sign prior to the roadside pull off. It is across from the Falls trail. Seals can be seen among the rocks below. A good picture opportunity. For us, we got a bonus dolphin show. Two pods, going completely aerial, with flips and all. Memorable.

This was brilliant, we get to walk over the rocks where seals are sunbathing in the sun. What an experience, very cool to see. They smell a bit but who cares!!!!

So many seal pups. We visited in early March and there was at least 50+ seals pups playing. no large males though as they are all out fishing for the pups food.

What fun to bump into silly seals sleeping in unexpected places. Got a few great close-up photos. One gave me a good bark to let me know I was getting too close so I scurried back from him.

After a disappointing attempt to find the seal colony at the tip of the Kaikoura peninsula (there were only 3 seals), our airbnb host told us to check out this one on our way out of town. We didn't have time to do the waterfall walk, but there were plenty of seals visible from the side of the road! It was fun to watch the pups playing in the surf and the waves crashing against the rocks. Really beautiful spot.

One could stand for hours watching the seal pups playing safely in the rock pool. They dance around and play with the large chunks of seaweed - climb up the cliffs and dive back in.. There were so many of them the pool looked alive. And all for free off the side of the road.

Not that you should or we did, but to get this close for pics was stunning. Rest of marine life at low tide interesting also,well worth 1-2 hrs .

These seals are at the end of a paved road hanging out on the rocks at the shore. One had come right next to the walkway and was too busy scratching to care about us. You won't get any closer unless you dive with them, and maybe not even then. The walk from Kaikoura, around one easy hour each way, is very scenic.

Viewing the seals from a roadside stop. Could gave watched them for hours. Liked that it was free and easily accessible.
