We stayed in the Novotel and visited Jacob's Creek winery, which is very close. I didn't expect a lot because I know Jacob's Creek as a massive producer but I was very nicely surprised :)Tasting was very pleasant and we could try some really delicious wines. Also lunch and cheese platter were beautiful! And because we ate too much and it was sunny outside, we could lie down on bean bags in their outdoor area. What an amazing setting! I felt fully relaxed and happy! Next time when we go to Barossa, we will go back for sure!

They had about 20 wines for tasting when we visited, all free of charge (unlike most wineries which seem to charge). Filling lunches served on the terrace, on the grass outside or indoors, at various (but reasonable) prices. Good place for a break.

Even though I don't drink wine, I enjoy bringing guests to this visitor centre. They get to sample the great wine this vinyard produces and I get to sit around on the lawn in an exceptionally comfortable beanbag chair looking at the wonderful big gum tree and gazing out over the vinyard and surrounding hills. The visitor centre is well appointed with the cellar door and a restaurant. We were there during the Australian Cup (Tennis) and they had a tennis court set up in the yard, too. The facilities are clean and there is a little historical section where you can learn about the beginnings of viticulture in the area. You can even hang out by the actual creek but there isn't any water in it for most of the year :) They are also embarking on a restoration of part of their grounds to traditional flora, so take a walk if you have the time. You can also hire pedal bikes and purchase a picnic lunch if you're so inclined.

Beautiful place to wine and dine. My wife and I would love to go back there if we have more time in our hands. Barossa Valley should be done at a very leisurely pace and not in a hurry. Would recommend this restaurant to all who enjoy their wines and food.

Throughout this area most of the land is covered in grapevines. Lots of boutique wineries & large scale wineries are dotted around Rowland Flat. It's a very pleasant drive through the Barossa Valley. One of the larger wineries is Jacobs Creek. Driving into this estate you see grapevines as far as the eye can see. After parking the car near the entrance to the winery they have vines with labels telling about the different grape varieties which is interesting.Once inside they have set up an informative walk through gallery with photos & equipment used in the making of wine. also some interesting info on cork trees. The large bar has plenty of staff to give you samples of any wines you want to try. No pressure to purchase which was nice. They also have a good souvenir selection for gifts etc.

The Jacobs Creek visitors centre is very modern and nice but to be honest I felt more like I'd slipped into a wine bar than into somewhere that I could learn about the wines on offer and try something new based on my preferences. The service wasn't great to start with but when it became obvious we weren't buying it became non existent. The view is nice and so are the grounds as most are around the area, but if you want a real wine tasting experience and a real feel of a winery this isn't the place to get it.

I'm usually very weary of the famous brand wineries and they are more often than not disappointing.Jacobs creek was better than that though.Service was good, Sacha was very friendly and chatty.Wines were good, a few cellar only which is always nice to try.It was nice to say a BAC machine there, it would be great to see more of those at wineries for those of us who are driving. My only gripe is that we showed up for an 11.15am tour only to be told they only do one at 3.15. Though I guess it's not really their fault, but the visitor's guide needs to be updated.Overall, worth a visit.

excellent centre with informative boards, great hosts and tastings. prices are good unless you can pick up some on special at your local. well worth a visit.

If you expect to be assisted in wine choices, do not go there. They want to sell those wines, the staff get bonusses on and NOT what you like. Price wise, most liquer stores in Sydney can give you better service and prices

Could spend several hours, sampling and relaxing on bean bags on lawn under a large gum tree - stunning

We were here as part of a day tour to the Great Barossa Valley. The visitor centre is located among a vast area of vineyards, full of greenery, flower pads, and in the mountain regions and its so scenic and nice place to be. Although it was sunny and warm day, it was cooling here due to the nature environment. We were hosted by a staff upon entering the centre who gave us a short but detailed introduction about the history of the company, its founders and the types of wines it manufactures. Along the way, we were shown those equipment that were used in the past to breed wine. This was followed by wine-tasting and we were brought to a separate corner of a hall way (a sort of a partition from the main hall) for it. The lady staff who hosted us brought out 5 bottles of red and white wines (of different alcoholic composition and ingredient used), gave a detailed introduction of the wine before pouring in the glasses for us to sample. Generally the wine tasted fine and was not expensive considering its direct from the manufacturer. The staff was professional and did not hard sell or compel us to buy and even asked those who could not accept the taste of the wine to pour them in to a container. A huge jar of ice water was available too for us to "wash our mouths" before trying the next. The entire process lasted about 25 mins. After trying the wines (in which a few of our tourmates bought bottles of wine), we were hosted to some pastries with coffee and tea. We walked out of the hall way into the outdoor where some chairs and tables were available. We sat there enjoying the pastries and tea while indulging in the nice natural, scenic and lovely environment. Pastries were good too.It was an eye-opening experience for us to visit here (though it the past we have visited beer facility but it was so different). Staff was friendly and professional, nice and lovely environment and this is a must visit place for wine lovers!Although we are not into wine drinking, we tried and tasted the wines and enjoyed our visit here. We especially loved the environment!

If looking for service with a grunt, just the place to go. Mind you, you might have to stand and wait for that grunt service, Would not bother going again.

Very well setup. Nice grounds and restaurant. Very clean and open. Wine tasting was good and no pressure selling.

A larger 'cellar door' than the usual but very well laid out, presented and clean. The historical display as you enter was very imformative and helpful. Lovely views, gardens and outdoor areas. A good selection of wines and associated products on sale. Well worth a visit.
