If it is the first time to visit Adelaide, you should have a walk through North Terrace at least one time. A street with trees at sides, as well as some old buildings, museum. It could give you the idea about what Adelaide will be - quiet and pleasant.

I forgot how beautiful North Terrace is with all the grand stately building and the wonderful statues as well as the gardens and plants

Lovely street, very clean and well kept! Also very scenic featuring Historic sandstone buildings, museums, lovely hotels and Adelaide's central station

After a late night meal, we drove down North Terrace, expecting that in the middle of the fringe activities and the Festival of Arts there may be some regonition of these events.Wrong, although the Terrace has well thought out lighting illuminating the major public buildings, this is the norm. Any acknowledgement that there is actually anything going on in the city is totally absent. Must be dissapointingt for interstate and overseas visitors.

Long central road with lots of big hotels and restaurants runs parrallel with Rundle Street where all the main shopping and restaurants are. We dropped our car off at Hertz which is located behind this street.

Walking down North Terrace took me back to Europe. The beautiful wide tree-lined street played host to majestic buildings was one of the most pleasure things on my visit recently. They are well preserved and kudos to Adelaide for caring for your 'graceful old ladies' so well.

you forget how lovely it is when you are a local. The buildings are interesting during the day and lots of places to visit. At night when they are lit up they are stunning

North Tce is a boulevard that one must see when in Adelaide. It houses museums, entrances of magazins, etc.

North Terrace runs the full length of the Adelaide CBD but if you're looking for things to do, I would suggest focusing on the east side. Here you can visit the Museum, Library, and Art Gallery (all free to enter - especially good on hot days). You're only one block away from Rundle Mall, to the south, and a nice walk along the Torrens river one block north. It's also easy to get to the Oval if you're taking in a match, or enjoy one of the restaurants just a little way down the east side. You'll also find both the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia situated along this road. On the west side of North Terrace, you'll find the train station, conference centre, government house, and the casino. A very large hospital is also staring to take shape in the extreme north west corner of the CBD. Parking can be tricky if you're on a budget, but you can usually find on-road parking or, if you don't mind paying a bit, there are several parking garages.

There are so many buildings of interest that you could spend a whole day doing them all. The buildings are so well preserved and kept so clean that it was a pleasure to visit them.
