Sure the area isn't as big as Perisher or Thredbo for downhill, but there's still plenty to keep you busy. Add to that the main range, an area easily ten times Perisher and Thredbo combined, with the steepest runs in Oz and you're set. The ski in ski out of the lodges is great, being able to ski to your door for a hot lunch and then ski out again makes the day very easy. The new cafe half way up the chairlift is a great meeting place on a sunny morning for a hot choccy or coffee and is an easy walk from the lodges for those who don't ski.The walk up Mt Stillwell is a must since you're really on the roof of Oz and the view is amazing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. There are great tracks to take walks with great look outs to take in the views. The landscape and the scenery made for amazing photo shots. Use the aerogard though in summer, there are too many flies.

From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I have been felt so unwelcome in my life. Staff were unfriendly, managers where useless. Not willing to accommodate a single simple request. Food was awful, the long haired rent shop tech had a bad attitude. was cocky as can be. I would never recommend this resort to anyone! You better off spending the little bit extra at perisher and get 3 amazing mountains the spending $100 and spend less the 1 min to ski top to the bottom... Again I say absolutely USELES! .

We rode from Jindabyne up to Charlotte Pass on our motorbike. Paid $6 for the privilege (well worth it, scenery is great) the pass also lasts for 24 hours and if going through Thredbo you can use it the next day.

Loved it. Awesome views. But when you get told to rug up, they mean it! Worth every bit of cold tho.

The road from Thredbo to Charlotte Pass is gorgeous to ride a motorbike on (in late October / November). Very pretty, you can stop several times and take photos and the outlook at the top is also very good. Definitely worth a visit.

This resort is the absolute best place to learn how to ski. It has a nick name "Island in the Snow". This is what makes Charlotte Pass a gorgeous destination for anyone wanting something different. It is a small resort but alot of fun. The cocktail bar is just lovely to experience with a charming atmosphere. Alot of the accommodation, like everywhere in the snowfields, is a little tired but the beautiful surroundings make up for that. This is not accessible via roads during winter, so be ready for a great new experience.

This year was the 3rd time we have done the Day Tripper and this time got the fantastic Tuesday $2 deal. It is only advertised on Snowy FM radio and at the Charlotte Pass ticket offices. You can book by telephone before you go and the tickets will be waiting for you at the Charlotte's desk in the Perisher Skitube terminal. Book early so you get the time you prefer for the over-snow transport as it does fill up. The best value in Australia for fun transport, great hot lunch and all day lift ticket with no queues. There is plenty of space - perfect for intermediates and beginners and because it is smaller and cosy it's very safe for kids. It's an authentic traditional snow day and the staff are really great, it's away from the boozy day trippers. If you have toddlers don't miss the fun ride out the front of the hotel. Charlotte's has the world's fastest poma. The hot lunch at the hotel is pretty good - there is choice of the bistro or the BBQ. Next time we will try the BBQ for a change. Note that if you need a coffee hit in the afternoon, the hotel's bistro closes by 3pm and if you don't want the higher prices of the hotel's lounge, walk up the hill a little to Stillwell lodge - they have great hot chocolate and coffee by the fireplace. Charlotte Pass is a well kept secret, the snow cover is great being so high up and you ski straight onto the lifts. Your kids can learn the layout of the runs pretty fast, it's very safe and easy to find your way around. The resort's lease with the National Parks is up for renewal next year and there are fears that NPs are going to pressure CP into price rises. I would hate to see this great resort go into new hands who would impose the same high prices and poor food as the other resorts. You can read about the details at CP's page.

We have been going to do this for many years, and we are so glad we finally have done it. You travel in snowmobile over the snow from Perisher to CP, about 40 minutes. What a great journey across the snow!!! With the day tripper you get hot lunch and lift access. There are 3 different packages depending on your needs. If you can go on TUESDAYS there is a great special at moment. It is usually $99 per person, BUT ON TUESDAYS it is $99 for 1 and second is ONLY $2 !!!!What a great deal. You can drive to Perisher and you only have National Park fee, $27 per vehicle ,or, you can get Skitube which cost us $84 for 2. You can get choice of meals in the Bistro or Tuesdays is barbecue day, in the Cellar Bar. You have a choice of steak, chicken or sausages, and several salads and a bread roll. Great meal indeed. Another reason to go on Tuesdays.

We have just returned from 4 day ski holiday at CP with out two young boys. It was our first time at CP and having tried all the other resorts in NSW we will definitely only be returning to CP. The location is spectacular and is only accessible via over snow transport. The cost of the over snow transport and ski tube is expensive but a holiday in the snow is never cheap. It was definitely worth paying a little extra for the benefits of the secluded location. There are only a small number of lodges in CP so the best thing was having no crowds or queues for lifts despite being school holidays. There is no mobile phone reception in the village which was actually nice to switch off from the world for a few days. Heaps of snow during our stay and the whole resort was open which I understand is rare for so early in the season. The lift tickets desk / ski hire place seemed poorly organised with only one person working. We waited for over 1.5 hours to buy lift tickets and hire our gear which was frustrating. Also disappointing that the ski shop closed for lunch which further delayed us getting on the slopes on our first day. This was the only downside of our experience.Would highly recommend CP to others and look forward to returning again one day soon.

It is well worth a day trip if not a few days) to this unique Australian resort. The over-snow trip to this snow board resort makes this a unique day on the snow and the view from the top of the main chair is nothing short of breathtaking! Plenty of runs for all levels and offers the best snow quality of all the resorts. The more experienced would find 2 days is enough here but add it to a few days in Perisher and you will feel like you have touched the best our mountains have to offer.

I did a day trip to Charlotte Pass from Perisher, and I enjoyed the day. The Daytripper Pass, including a simple lunch, was good value. The problems I had were related to there being too much snow, and because there wasn't many people, I couldn't make out the signs for the runs. I think that more/bigger signs would be good for first timers. The oversnow transport was a fun experience. The staff were ok, but a bit more stand offish than at Perisher - perhaps this reflects CP as a quieter place?I'd like to have another go.

Highest resort in Australia. Small local village feel, not much to offer except skiing the bowl, and a grand hotel at the base. The finish line to the annual KAC cross country ski race. Great for safe family holidays in the snow.

I recall three lifts at this resort. It is very small and accessible only by over snow transport in winter.Well worth a visit if you have not been but one day would be enough for most people who can ski. Access to main range and some great views are a bonus. Its isolation means crowds are not a problem and as it is the highest resort in Australia it should have good snow cover. Probably a good location if you are into Nordic Skiing as the alpine skiing is limited.I spent many family holidays here as a child and had a ball. The hotel there is becoming historic, in Australian standards, and is worth a visit. Although last time I went it was in need of a freshen up.
