So glad we went. The tour was just fascinating. Alan (the tour guide) was great and so knowledgable. It was a really fun way to learn about wine. The red sparkling was delicious. We purchased a box! We were hungry but didn't want to miss the tour so the nice lady that works there gave us some apples to tie us over.

We visited Seppelt Winery on Australia Day and were served by a smiling, but harassed young woman, who was the only staff member on duty. As a result, she found it very hard to keep up with tastings & purchases & couldn't even find business cards when another customer asked. She never lost her cool, apologised constantly, and offered us a good discount on the wine we purchased, although she added it up incorrectly at her first attempt. No-one was available to sell the platters or to talk about the wonderful old wines, sherries & ports that were celebrated in displays around the walls. We wouldn't hurry back to repeat this experience.

Famous winery located just outside of Ararat. It's a very large scale winery and very well known. Nice decor and well maintained buildings. A huge amount of wines found here have won James Halliday gold and silver medals . The Chardonnay (particularly the jaluka) was particular spectacular. There is plenty of parking and easy to get toThe staff were lovely and very down to earth. Great recommendations and generous tastings Highly recommend. Worth a visit

The is where my wine journey started as a child. I was taken on a tour of the cellar when I was about 12 and have been interested in wine since. Not drinking but wine making of course! The drinking of it came later. Not a huge range of wines and only a couple to my liking. The staff were friendly and helpful but nowhere near as enthusiastic as Best's from over the road. However, I would like to thank them for our absolute treat, as a Wine writer/judge from WA had just left and we and others lucky enough to be there at the time got to taste a museum wine which was a 30 years old (approx can't remember the exact year) riesling, very sweet and smooth. That was a treat. Right place right time.

We had a wine tasting here and really enjoyed it judging by the four boxes of wine we left with. We had a really good girl who knew her wines exceptionally well, and she gave us different things to try. Definitely worth a visit if your doing the wineries of this area.

We dropped in to taste and revisit old memories from visiting many years ago. There is heaps of parking and a great outlook over the vineyards. The Winery shop is full of history and the staff were knowledgeable, helpful and charming. We didn't tour the drives on this occasion but found that to be a great experience on past visits.Tasting the wine range was an enjoyable experience. We joined the Seppelt's wine club to get a discount before buying. The one disappointment was finding the winery discount price for their top of the range champagne was beaten by another 20% in our home bottle shop 1 week later.

I went to this winery purely for the underground tour it has 3 km of underground tunnels called drives. We were met by the wine makers wife which I never thought would happen as it is a large corporate winery. The tour was great I hadn't planned on buying wine but I'm sitting writing this review sipping on the Pinot suggested by Mrs winemakers wife. All in all the tour was worth it as is the wine I'm sipping on.

Had the pleasure of touring the Seppelt Winery with Allan as our guide. It was more than just a winery tour, it was a excellent and fascinating history lesson about the state of Victoria as well as the state of sparkling wine making in Australia. Fun, fascinating stories, amazing caves dug by the gold miners. A slice of Victoria State history about feuding brothers and great business timing. Ending in a wonderful tasting of beautiful & unique sparkling wines.

Located just off the Western Highway, approximately 17km north of Ararat, with the Grampians National park in the background. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I only had the opportunity to a quick wine tasting experience, which was free of charge.I know it is one of the largest wineries in the region, but I was also informed their underground cellars are the largest in the Southern hemisphere, impressive. There are premium wine tastings, food platters and tours available, which means a certainty for me, to stop by again on my next visit with more available time. The staff have a great knowledge, and a personality to match.

The knowledge ofthe cellar door staff was outstanding both as a region for growing grapes and their wine product.....we'll done

The tour and tour guide were great. Fantastic value for money. The wine tasting was good and complimented the tour, but it's hard to top walking around in large underground drives. We also had coffee after the tour, but the cheese and prune platters seemed a bit overpriced. It would have been good if they offered more food choices.

Run at 2pm and had about 18 people on it. Our tour guide was Alan and he was very knowledgeable and very funny. The tour takes about 45 mins and starts from the Sepplets wintry

Great winery and tour taking in the drives (underground tunnels use to store wine) is well worth it.

A historical winery which has drives grown with moulds. This is a rare site as it is not economical to dig shuch underground passages today. The guided tours cost $18 per person and the guides are very knowledgeable and entertaining. It has seen better days since my last visit twenty years ago, but worth the drive from Melbourne while it is still there.

The tour takes an hour and costs $16. The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. You go underground and walk through some of the 2.9 Kms of 'drives' and can follow the tour with tasting their well known sparkling wines.
