We went for the Rodin's and stayed for the food!! The Solar da Unhao chain includes another one in the Mondern Art Museum in Salvador...they are both a culinary adventure. The settings are also exquisite. The Rodin museum has a huge old colonial building which is transitioned into a very large exposition hall that looks like Frank Lloyd Wright designed it. Very interesting architecturally and intriguing to the eye. The restaurant is between the 2, with many large couches, and a stunning array of very creative dishes. We were here more than once and every time the experience was consistent, relaxing, and memorable. Recommend this as one of the top attractions of Salvador!

Located at Graça Street, this mansion has some Rodin sculptures.This museum creator is the former Director of the São Paulo Pinacoteca, Emanuel Araújo. Teamed with the Rodin Museum director in Paris to strengthen the artistic and cultural ties of Brazil and France.The opening hour, like all the Salvador museums, is very unpleasant: from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

I went for the museum but it didn't open on Sunday until14.00 so I had lunch here. I was told the crepes were good and so it turned out to be. I had some sort of chicken (the menu was in Portuguese only, which is a bit of an annoyance, so I don't know exactly which one it was) but it tasted delicious, the service was good and the location pleasant.

Fascinating small museum right in the heart of Graça, It has just a few Rodin statutes in its permanent collection, but I stumbled upon it while it was hosting a traveling exhibit of numerous works of art by Rodin, lent by the Rodin Museum in Paris. All the interpretive materials were in Portuguese and French, with not a word of English, but it was great fun trying to puzzle out the captions and longer explanations of the works from my limited knowledge of those two languages. The grounds of the Palacete are indeed beautiful and the cafe in the back is something of a retreat from the hustle bustle of the surrounding busy streets in this neighborhood.

This beautiful 'palacete' in the Graça area of Salvador is a must. It's always good to see some statues in a nice garden setting by french top sculptor Auguste Rodin. Even when the museum is not open, it's worth entering the gate as the main statues are in open air. The extension of the museum by Marcello Ferraz in 2006 feels really like São Paulo and is a great example of modernist concrete architecture. Walk around to pick up the great lines of the contemporary building in the backyard with its traces of concrete formwork and connected with the older one by a slim ramp above the ground. It's once more a proof that concrete does it very well in the tropics.

Good location, a building with beautiful and pleasant gardens. The exhibition space could be better.

Great place and neighborhood, there is a subway in front and a mac donalds just few minutes ahead. Near by the MAB museum art of Bahia and the Carlos Costa Pinto Museum. Also there is the Church of victoria just in the way. The palacete was built by Bernardo Catharino. Besisdes the sculptures by Auguste Rodin there always a local artist exibit.

All is worth your visit here: the Rodin sculptures, the historical house and the fresh little garden to have a rest, a drink and a quick meal!!! Enjoyable!!!

The mansion has a handful of Rodin sculptures & there are 3 or so more outside in the gardens. Free on Sundays; not sure about other days. Behind the mansion is a contemporary Bahian art gallery (also free on Sundays) w/ wire & rock sculptures downstairs & a hallway of 'tapestry art' upstairs. Oriental fabric that has been painted over (mostly in white or tan) to create a 'picture', usually of people.

there is an exhibit of plasters that Rodin did as studies. But better is the modern wing in back with some interesting modern art (depends of the time). A lovely cafe to relax in, wifi, an oasis of calm.

Fui para conhecer a para almoçar. Foi uma experiência excelente, pois o lugar é extremamente agradável, repleto de obras espalhadas pelo jardim, e o restaurante do local tem um atendimento perfeito.
