I was a bit horrified at this zoo...it is old and dated. My experience was typified by a colleagues excitement at seeing RACCOONS at the zoo...they are so cute!!! Da Da Da, but all you have to do is put out some trash if you want to see raccoons AHAHAHHAHAHA. This was hokey and really not worth a viot

Some people said only kids & retirement people who visit zoo. Come to Kharkov Zoo & you'll have fun too. This zoo is not so big & don't have so many kind of animals but they are clean. You can buy some veggies or nuts inside to feed the deers, monkeys, or another animals. Kharkov Zoo is not usual zoo, this is also a historical place from USSR time. Here you can see the three monkeys monument. And at the end, don't forget to buy some little souvenirs before go home :)

Who likes a zoo when it's empty? This privately owned zoo is gorgeous. Lots of flowers at the entrance. Lovely monkeys. And big cats. There is a lovely spot for pictures, a multicolored overhead umbrella canopy. Pick your angle; best to shoot from below. Bathrooms? Bit of a disappointment. The zoo is so well kept. Then you step into a porta potty. What you smell is what you get. There is an equestrian center. And it's operators say at the end of 2014, they will arrange for zoo visitors to be able to ride the horses. It is a small zoo, but a very nice one. No elephants. No rhinos. No room for range creatures such as gazelles. But go!

it has a lot of animals, there are places for small children to play, a few attractions, "baby observation train".

Loved the Zoo! Had a great time over there. It was my first time in Kharkov, coming back for sure. Was a bit called but hot caffe kept me warm. Very good! Recommend it! Especially for children!

If you are ever in Kharkov, Ukraine, you must see this amazing water fall that is right next to the zoo. It has these amazing steps of water that flow and it is a great to watch the sunset as well too!

Poor standard, depressed animals in tiny cages, generally a sad place to visit with an outrageous entrance fee. Go to the zoo in Kyiv instead.

I thought this zoo was charming with lots of exotic animals. There was an icecream stand on almost every corner. You could buy lettuce and fruitshells to feed the animals, which was very interested. The were used to children feeding them. They had a good variety of monkey races. I talked for a long time with a racoon, that wasn´t feeling very well, it was neurotic. A horse was riding around with a carriage and you could buy rides. The racoon was only calm, when it heard the bells attached to the horsecarriage. The place is very children friendly.

I didn't even realize this place was a zoo for the first 5 minutes. There are no real signs and it is impossible to tell what an animal cage is and what is just a patch of grass until you actually spot a random depressed animal laying on a rock.Most of the cages look like that if the animals actually wanted to they could easily escape and I was half expecting to get attacked by a random lion just walking down the path.I also don't think they have any zookeepers working here.

Awful life conditions for poor animals. They look so sad, they have so small cages. Wouldn't go there again.

There are a lot of animals, including bears, polar bears, lions, hippo, elephants, and girrafes (and many more animals and birds), aquarium and terrarium as well. You can feed animals with carrot and cabbage (can be bought right there). Sometimes it is not as clean as you would like to.

Located near Skevchenko park , this zoo is a HORROR!!!Its the first zoo i have visited where guest are allowed to feed the animals(probably because they can not do it themselves). Clearly the animals look sad and the cages/occupations are dirty , small or crowded.I felt sad for the animals after i visited the zoo.Regarding collections of animals , well- tigers , elephant , some deer . pigs , wolves etc etc...its okay if you are board and want to waste time, but if you are going to see animals and have a happy time , go elsewhere .

Dont go if you have any pity in your heart for those poor animals. Not the best conditions, although improved since the early 90is
