I thought was a really beautiful way to display a fountain. It is nothing really exciting, but it is nice to see at least once. And it's a great place to go just to sit and talk.

It's obvious that those disappointed don't appreciate what they are looking at. It needs to be seen after dusk in the evening to appreciate the beauty of what is a unique victory memorial of the second world war, it was built in 1947 and at night the fountain and archway are lit with changing coloured projected lights. The 'mirror stream' itself is at the front where the water falls from the pond and it is a clear stream of water with a smooth 'mirror' surface. There is a small garden behind and it is a wonderful place for couples to take romantic photos. Compared with typical victory war memorials in other parts of Europe - masculine strong archways and cold stone objects - this victory memorial is a place of beauty, and like many of the best things in life it is free.

Very disappointing. It's a sad little fountain. But the locals seem very fond of it so there's that.

this is a very nice place, there is a small garden behind of this fountain where you have have a rest

I walked past this fountain during the day and if you did not know what you were looking for you would walk straight past it. Not very spectacular but it is a photo opportunity.

I don't understand why it considered to be "the symbol of Kharkov" when city has so many great places and great architecture. In my opinion it's an average fountain and does not worth the special visit unless you are walking between Metro Istorichnyi Musey and Metro Universitet (Mirror Stream located right across the Opera Theater). While you are in the center of the city you will not pass it anyway. It's a nice area to take a break and enjoy the bench, or observe the local life. It's more impressive in the evening due to the color changing illumination, but Kharkov beautifully illuminate so many buildings and fountains. I would recommend to put it on the "Nice to See", not on the "Mast to See" list.

It is a good place to visit on your trip for the city break. It is situated near the upper end of Sumskaya street surrounded by beautiful garden. I loved to have my ice-cream there after long walk, to watch the city life around and chat with local buddies.

Maybe that is because I was with the woman I love. We had just made reservations at a wonderful restaurant, and I would be proposing the next day. So ya, I was in a wonderful mood. There was no water running, but I still enjoyed the changing light colors

It was a great fountain and it looked amazing in the evening. It is lighted up in blue and looks so amazing in the evening. A place to spend on a nice warm evening.

I happened to arrive on sunny day and only short time so i couldnt see the lights changing as been advised... but the fountain is really something special. I love kharkiv and all its building... I've been to Odessa and Lugansk and Kiev... I'm going to Lviv next and Creamore... I heard those have significant views as well.... I cannot wait. Ukraine is beautiful :)

Lovely at night to see the different colours light display.During the daytime , local wedding parties have their photos done here. Go on Saturdays to see the weddings , it is so interesting to see !

it's amazing! especially in the evening. you can watch the light show. But any time in the day, any time of the year this small park in the down town is wonderful!

Kharkiv as for me, is one of the best old cities in Ukraine. I like it so mutch. Highly recommended.
