I walked along the river promenade from Cathedral of The Epiphany to get to Znamensky monastery. It take a lot of time but walkable. The monastery is beautiful and the interior look stunning.

Brilliant place to visit. Best way to get there is marshrutka no 27. Get off on the opposite side of the roundabout. If you walk along the embankment (take marshrutka no. 27 in the opposite direction for one stop) you can look back towards the monastery and see the cross that marks the spot where Admiral Kolchak was executed (I guess that if you are going to this monastery, his statue is part of the motivation.) Wonderful icons - don't forget to see the Matrona.

I liked when I wear a scarf when I enter. Girls, please bring your scarf. Inside, it was incredible. I liked the way they're reading their mantra, kind of symphonic.

The monastery was worth checking out, though it was difficult to cross the highway to get to it. Probably best to visit it by taxi or maybe by bus (I walked along the river promenade to get to it).

Timoshka

Gorgeous, antic pictures (ikons), takes your breath away, bring your camera! Saturday and Sunday a lot of people coming for service, which is beautiful - you should see it!

This monastery has a small park-like setting. The interior is exceptionally beautiful. It is not huge like a cathedral, but definitely worth a visit if you want to see some beautiful Irkutsk sites. My pictures tell the story best.

O mosteiro é bacana, tranquilo, como todos os mosteiros ortodoxos da Rússia. A atração é as tumbas dos familiares do dezembrista Trubstskoy. O acesso é difícil e tome cuidado: pode haver grupos de mendigos pedindo dinheiro na porta do mosteiro.

помню этот храм с детства, когда приезжал в Иркутск, он стоит и встречает на въезде в центр и провожает когда уезжаешь.С тех пор он не изменился и к счастью не совсем застроился многоэтажками.

Tanto a construção como o interior são de uma beleza ímpar. O estilo é bem como o de todas as Igrejas Ortodóxas que muito me agrada. Mais até do que o das Igrejas Católicas

конечно и сами сооружения впечатляют, красивая работа и намоленное место. вокруг и внутри монастыря захоронения, в тч декабристов и подвижников Сибири. достойные были люди, недалеко памятник Колчаку, очень хорошо сделан, настоящий такой, с движением внутри

Очень красивый храм внутри, много старинных икон, доброжелательные матушки, которые подскажут и направят

у монастыря стоит памятник адмиралу Колчаку, интересно как он связал во едино сибирские города. Сам монастырь уникален, в нем ощущается дыхание вечности и прошлого. Очень рекомендую

Если уж сюда приехали, то сходите обязательно! Очень красивая территория, очень интересная история (только лучше возьмите экскурсовода). На территории этого монастыря захоронены декабристы.
