I didn't like the ticket price but it was really interesting and probably well worth the money and the time.

Given that mining is really important to Milos, we visited this well-designed museum in October 2014. Very interesting and enjoyable including the short movie about people that worked on the mining sites many years ago.

Helped fill in some of the gaps after visiting some of the mine sites. Nice well presented. It's spread over 3fllors with a chair lift once inside but I think it has steps outside the entrance!

The video about mine workers was very interesting. The obsidian collection was excellent. Must visit!

The exhibit was comprehensive but not too detailed to become boring. Be sure to watch the movie, located on the lower floor, as it tells the stories of previous generations who worked the mines of Milos... Very moving.

Great layout over 3 floors. Downstairs is an excellent series of videos on the history of mining in Milos. On the ground floor is more detail on mining including mining gear, maps and old photos. On the first floor is a fantastic little exhibition of the varied geological specimens of this wonderful volcanic island Very modern, light and airy.....not too largeCosts €4.....well worth it.

Very informative and interesting. We really enjoyed it.It's worth to visit the museum before exploring Milos, since the museum gives plenty of background information (eg there is a short movie about sulphur mine in Paliorema). They have also good maps.

We really enjoyed this - maybe out daughter not quite as much. We do like to see what goes on behind the scenes though and what makes a place what it is. The video of the people who had worked in the mines was very moving - especially when you probably still see some of them during your visit.

Mining was a very important economic activity in the island of Milos. Different types of clay, exported in France for construction activities, were extracted from caves. People, men, women even children were working there before World War II and till 50's. Videos and daily working tools, exposed very comprehensively at the Museum, show how difficult the situation was , but also express a feeling of satisfaction through work. Sentiments are controversial, awe and respect for the past...

Unique for locality, very well organised, a pleasant and useful experience and very important in understanding the island and people' s heritage.

Having taken the round-the-island boat trip, and being blown away by the amazing rock formations, old sulphur mines, and mineral deposits that I saw, I sought out the Milos Mining Museum to better understand this phenomenon. It's a most interesting collection of stones and mineral samples and shows the mostly unknown mining resource and dramatic features of this relatively unfamiliar island. The moving story of the early miners is most interesting. The whole visit was very fascinating and thought provoking. I only wished it was closer to the main town so more people would know it was there.

A collection of stone and mineral samples, panels, photos and films helped to understand how the the fantastic colours and shapes of the Milos landscapes were formed as well as how man has exploited these barren areas. The film featuring the memoirs of the old former miners of their often hard life in the mines was interesting and sometimes very touching.

I'm not usually one for museums but this was an interesting place to spend an hour on a wet morning. The best bit was the video presentation where ex-miners told their own stories in their own words. Very moving.

very detailed gives you a complete knowledge of the mining resources and history of the island. necessary to give you the elemnts to know such aspects that determine the phisionomy of Milos. it woul be better if they could be open in the evening a couple of days per week.

This museum gives the history of the islands origin, the volcano, all the different minerals which are found and the history of labour in the mines. Your visit around the island will be another after a visit in this museum. A must for every visitor.
