An interesting step back into ancient times. The tour is organized, interesting educational and inexpensive. I would recommend visiting.

It was a nice suprise to watch the early Christian catacombs on Milos. Of course, if you have been to Rome, this is a bit disappointing, but still.Another drawback is the fact that we had to wait for a group to assemble, because entrance to the catacombs was only allowed with a guide.Still -- the environment is nice, and it is a great walk up to Tripiti.

We visited the catacombs whilst we were wandering around the area one day. We're not normally the kind of couple that enjoys organised tours, but at only €3 a head, it seemed worth a try. It was no better nor worse than we had expected. You have a headset that you use for the information, with a guide who tells you which number to press and when. The catacombs themselves are worth a quick look, although sadly covered in graffiti - mostly inscribed. We did have a small smile at one graffito that was dated 1922!I think, for the price, it's worth a look, but don't expect to have your socks knocked off.

Milos island beside the fantastic beaches also has this fine historical attraction!!!!It is very close to Plaka and has a fee.I think 3€ .The day i went with my wife the place as closed because of a strike but a nice lady let us in.

Glad we visited. Small section opened but well presented and kindly restored. I wish there was more.

Worth a visit!I found these catacombs beautiful and intriguing.I could have spent hours under there asking questions. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and didn't hesitate to answer any and all questions I had!I did have a few annoying morons in my group who repeatedly used flash photography, and I worried that we would be asked to leave before I had finished viewing it. Thankfully they were asked to leave. To is well lit and respectfully preserved. The listening device in different languages is a GREAT idea!!!

Very attractive place, under the moutains for 200m, nice experience. The cost its only 3€ per person, about 5 minutes from the Plaka town

Although the guide giving the tour in English seemed to lack motivation, she was helpful and kind when asked questions. Most importantly, the overall experience is amazing and the catacombs unique and exceptionally well-maintained!

The visit to the catacombs is a bit disappointing because while the site is well restored and wellorganised they have opened to the public just two galleries and it is a fraction of the overall site. So if you are in Plaka or Tripiki and you have 30' to spare it is worth the time otherwise I think there are other more interesting things to do in the island

This is a quick tour of an extensive catacomb burial chamber. Most of it is not accessible for viewing which is a little disappointing. It is definitely worth the 30 minutes of your time to visit.

Well preserved and guarded, clean, nice venting system and you don't get that buried feeling... not very big and the guides are quite informed about the history.

Although billed as the second most important catacombs after Rome theres little to greatly interest the casual tourist to the catacombs. The remaining original frescos are few and far between and the "newer" grafitti dominates. Much of the catacomb system is inaccessible but I suppose it would be pretty much more of the same. We were fortunate to be invited latch on to a private tour guide as there was no official guide the day we went (ticket prce is supposed to include the tour). Its worth a visit if you are passing I suppose.

For the first time we were able to visit a catacomb. After a lovely stroll down from the atmospheric town of Plaka, we reached the Catacombs. As everywhere on the Cycladic Islands, a cat followed us on the last stairs down to the entrance! The Catacombs are not very extensive, but interesting after all.

Recently my husband and I went to visit the Catacombs of Melos. These are below ground cemeteries of the first Christians in Milos and were carved into caves. There are halls you are able to go into and you can see the burial chambers. A guide accompanies you. Only a relatively small portion is able to be directly viewed by the visitor but outside of the caves there are excavations where additional burial chambers can be seen.In order to get down to the level of the catacombs from the parking area, it is necessary to go down quite a few steps...not difficult, but be aware of this if you have trouble walking. Also, be aware that the catacombs are very claustrophobic. If this doesn't bother you, however, I would absolutely suggest visiting them as they are very interesting.Admission charge was 3 euros.
