This museum shows a private collectors collection which is impressive considering the number of pieces shown. There is a Russian lady curator who explains the history very clearly

Quite pricy, but it was a lovely surprise for us - there's only a few eggs but there are a lot of other stunning beautiful pieces. There was a walking guide who I feel really made it for us, giving us a lot of detail on why they were there, where they came from and often - how much it cost to purchase! It's a museum, but I would consider it more as a collector's showcase.

This is in effect the private collection of a wealthy Russian, somewhat mystifyingly located in Germany.Admission of 18 euros is steep, especially considering that not so much of the display is actual Faberge jewelry, or the famous Easter eggs, but assorted medallions, small carvings, tzarist photos that are unexplained, and many items which aren't Faberge at all (but antique gold tableware and personal ornaments).

18 euros each for entry! Okay, you will see some amazing intricate work. However, the famous Faberge Eggs are in short supply. Museum does have a very helpful, English speaking guide though. I guess you can't visit Baden Baden without going to the museum but it isn't very large. Walk slowly and read all the info and you might be able to spend a couple of hours there. I quite enjoyed it, hubby did not.

If you're going to see the eggs you'll be disappointed, only a couple with nothing inside, but lots of other historic Russian items and knowledgeable docents.

If you do not already appreciate the work of Faberge or have read about the fine work of this artisan, don't complain about wasting your money on visiting this museum on your own or through a tour. For everyone else, it is worth every penny to see these works of art and more! The palace in which this private museum is housed is absolutely beautiful as well and not to be forgotten as you walk through. This is a special place to enjoy and privilege to see these objects d'art.

I'm not a jewellery fan but this is brilliant and worth every Euro cent of the entry fee especially thinking about the value. Faberge made one off items that cost maybe the equivalent to $2M at the time and ceased in 1918 for obvious reasons. This pukka stuff has no connection to the current production so let us nail that one now. Stunning collection of priceless and perfect craftsmanship items including Imperial Eggs. If you cannot appreciate the skill then just go and have a coffee, you will have no class. Look out for the unfinished Constellation Egg and the gold mini egg tree.Excellent help, advice and information by mature Russian lady on first floor. THANK YOU xxSome years ago an offer was made for this collection at US$2m..it was refused by the private owner who want to show the world the genius of Faberge. What a great fellow and where else can you see this stuff except maybe Moscow?.

It's a fine museum but expensive €18 for what it offers. I guess it's because it's a private museum. You cannot take photos inside the museum which is disappointing but the collection is impressive. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They help with the translations to English since everything is either in German or Russian.

Of relatively minor interest, and with a hefty entrance fee, for addicts only. Conveniently located in the centre of town.

Nice collection but I honestly would skip this place. Not so special, and there is better ways to spend your money: the baths, coffee, etc...

Amazing art and service. Hard to find due to ambiguous mapping. After walking up hill on a very hot day and meeting some other people also enquiring about The Faberge Museum. The good news was that this museum is open on Mondays. We retraced our steps and eventually found it. It is near the centre. We got an excellent deal because we were over 60. The options were: objects by the Faberge factory, carved animals and Gold from around the world. We had an excellent guide who explained the origins and all the objects collected an displayed in this Russian private museum. It was very interesting, a fantastic discovery and we learnt a lot.In fact I would go far as to say that it was a fabulous sight. It is quite cosy with plenty of objects.

Although a very small museum, it is packed with gems created by Faberge and the helpful staff are on hand to answer questions or to proffer interesting stories to enhance the visitor's understanding or appreciation of the displays. not cheap at 15 euros each bunt the museum is obviously seeking to recoup some of its considerable investment in Faberge artefacts so it was worth it.

The Faberge museum is basically two floors of rooms with some ( not much) of the Faberge collection. For what you pay for there's not much to see or do , we were in and out in half an hour, children get in free but frankly there's not much to engage them apart from a statue of a bunny in the garden. If you are loaded and don't mind being ripped off take a look.

We were drawn to the museum by the prospect of seeing the famous eggs. At the entrance is a man who looks Russian, does not speak, and points you to where he wants you to go... mainly the register where you can pay €15,- per person. Then you need to leave all your bags behind in a locker that can be opened with a paperclip. We took out our passports just-in-case...The collection itself is very small with only a couple of actual eggs. Cigarette boxes, some jewelry and on the second floor the 'Faberge Zoo' which consists of a couple of dozen small animals. Nice, but not that specials. For what you get, the admission fee was way too high... €5,- would have been fair. Skip this one and spend it on some of the other highlights in the city.

This is an amazing museum and wonderful to find in Baden Baden. We saw the gold collection, the Faberge zoo and the permanent collection. Brilliant!
