There are two parts to this place. The museum and the outside villa and grotto. The museum had some parts translated into english, but the passages were much shorter which was annoying as clearly the Italian passages contained more detail. Outside it's a short pleasant walk to the villa ruins and the grotto, all of which were beautiful but there was no information explaining the individual parts of what you were looking at, what the rooms were / might have been used for, so it felt a little lacking. The grotto itself was pretty cool, but felt a bit under-maintained. Overall it was enjoyable so worth a wander around on a clear day.

We went to Sperlonga to see the beauty of this seaside town. The museum and grotto were things that people were highly recommending on travel forums. The museum is pretty good, public washrooms were available as were cold drinks from vending machines. We walked over to the grotto and spent about 45 min. walking around and taking some interesting photos. No real signage so you have to remember what you read in the museum. Okay, but don't go to Sperlonga just for this. From Rome you have to take a train and a bus, which proved to be pretty unreliable and frustrating.

You would expect that with such an important find of marbles there would be a little more historcally accurate information. For example the marbles are clearly from one of the Tinos (Cyclades) schools, yet there is absolutely no mention of this. This school is the most important in ancient Greece and yet the local "intelligencia" seem to know nothing about it.When questioned the curator was much more interested in looking at his phone and dismissed the notion. The rest of the staff was nowhere to be seen. It is a real dissapointment, not worth the visit.

Just off the beach, discovered at the end of a beach stroll. Interesting and worth a visit. Archaeological site and museum. Wonderful sculptures.

I visited this a while back and have been meaning to write a review because I think it is a wonderful place to visit. The museum is very interesting and it is amazing to see the images recreating the villa and grotto as it was back then. The whole family loved the visit. It really captured our imagination. Sperlonga is beautiful too.

What a great day we had exploring the villa and grotto of the emperor Tiberius. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. The 5 euro entry gets you in to the ruins, the grotto and the museum. Fascinating insights ànd artifacts.

Fascinating place but there was a lack of basic information, no brochures or leaflets to take away. As for the translations....!!!

Worth a trip along the beach from Sperlonga main town. Very interesting displays. The walk down to the Grotto is especially good.

We were the only ones wandering around the ruins the day we were there. There are a lor of walls remaining from his villa. The cave is large and the fishery area impressive. It was fun to imagine what it was like when the ancient Romans were there.

Good admission price into a really interesting piece of history. There are plenty of information boards and the stunning location right on the sea make this a really worthwhile visit.

Well worth a visit to all the lovers of ancient Roman history! The museum is great with items from the cave. you must visit museum first then on to the cave and remains of the villa which is great. This only costs 5 euro which is incredible value

We walked here from the town of Sperlonga on the beach . It was an easy 10 minute walk . Just wish I had my snorkeling gear at the grotto beach . It was even prettier than the pictures . Definitely would go again . 5 euro entrance fee .

The museum is a bit old, but the grounds are wondrous. The grotto is amazing! It is worth finding. I don't know about parking as we parked in the main area. It was difficult to find, but is just after the tunnel before you come to Sperlonga.
