Castello is a ruin of the castel with great panorama of nearest area. The tower is something you really must visit!

This is one place that is not to be missed, but for us it was made special by a caretaker who upon learning that my father had been born in nearby Calascibetta, took us up into the tower, which was locked and allowed us to climb to the top. He stayed with us and didn't rush but let us take our time as we took pictures from all sides. Then he took us into another locked area where we saw the only remaining column that was left from an ancient temple of Demeter. I loved our visit here!

The exterior of the castello is imposing. There in not a lot remaining within the walls. The tower offers great views over the surrounding area. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

The remains of the castle lead you to believe there's lots to see once inside the walls. There isn't really much inside the castle, but outlines of different areas that once made it up. The walls are pretty well intact for the most part and you can wander through most of the yards inside.We climbed to the top of the tower to enjoy the incredible views back towards Enna and then over the surrounding landscape. There's just rocky remains of what had to be a lookout tower that is on the edge of the mountain. It's not a super easy climb up there, but once you make it, the views are even more incredible than on top of the tower.All in all, we spent 1-2 hours on the site and I was enjoying the various shots I was able to get from there.

It looks pretty awesome from the outside, but unfortunately there is not much left on the inside to see. I guess that's why it's free :-). The tower is cool though, great views of the surroundings.

This is a very superb site of the ancient (XII Century) castle and there is plenty to observe as one wanders through its various yards, tower, walls and so on. The signage is excellent being in both Italian and English so visitors can truly understand and appreciate where they are and what the remains and archaeological investigations have revealed. One can climb to the top of the tower to experience the incredible views over Sicily that can be seen, but if one does not wish the steep climb, the views can still be appreciated from the lower walls. There is no charge for entry to this very impressive site.

XII century castle with four yards, walls, towers, necropolis, etc. Many historic objects are in very good conditions. There are bilingual signs (Italian and English) all around the place that give you the idea of different areas and buildings in the castle.Top three suggestions:1. Climb to the top of Pisan Tower (located in the fourth yard) -- it is the highest point of the castle and the views from the top are stunning!2. Plan 1.5-2 hours not just to walk around but to read the information on the infosigns. Otherwise you'll just walk near the big stones of the 12 century.3. Don't take strollers and heavy bags with you -- there are many stairs and long paths all around. A bootle of water and a camera is what you need

The view is amazing and gives a great idea of the Sicilian landscape. One of the negative elements of getting to the top is that it can be a problem for those who have balance issues. For those who wish to get to the top walk there is not always very safe

Quiet Place. Astonishing view when you climb up the staircase to the top of the castle. My kids loved running around in the garden.

Fort is located on the city's high place from which impressive views over the valley.The city is ancient and beautiful, ancient places of the city's largest church is right next to the hotel. Distance of 1 hour drive to Villa Armerina where there is the impressive mosaics discovered at the excavation site.

was shut. top of hill so view would have been nice if not such bad weather but the castle isnt needed to enjoy that. .

We visited and it was free to walk through. I wanted more information and wished someone was around to answer questions, but it was still interesting. I did climb to the top of the castle and the view was amazing.

One of the caretakers unlocked the gate leading up to the tower (lots of steps) and went with us.He spoke virtually no English and I spoke virtually no Italian but we were still able to understand what he was pointing out. A must see.
