Located very close to Telavi in the Kakheti region, Tsinandali Palace is the beautifully-restored summer home of Alexander Chavchavadze, 19th century Georgian aristocrat, poet, wine-maker and military figure. The house is Italianate, the lovely grounds landscaped in the English style.Short guided tour of the house with fluent English-speaking guide. I liked the fact that it is possible to go right into some (but not all) of the rooms, not only peer in from a roped-off area. The main dining room is hung with family portraits and the table laid with Limoges porcelain, but the family dining room is surprisingly intimate. Many of the books concern wine-making and there are also German pianos, including the first piano imported to Georgia.Other parts of the house are used for important art exhibitions, events and music recitals. After seeing the 19th century pianos it was quite a surprise to see a modern Steinway grand.The well-regarded Tsinandali white wine is still made and it is possible to buy an entry ticket to include wine tasting, for a small supplement.

The Museum is well-maintained and I think if you come here, better only take the package tour of 7 Lari which includes the tour of museum, park + 1 free glass of wine because on the Museum tour is quite limited, you're not even allowed to take a photo and I wasn't informed beforehand so it's so embarassing, park is okay nothing much to see. Upon entering the museum, they have the speaker who talks about the history and all. I just like where the wine cellar is and the wine tasting, I've tried the white whine and its good, I ended up buying the Saperavi red wine and Tsinandali white wine. Its cheaper of course to buy from here than in the airport.

в целом понравилось. прогулялись по парку, послушали рассказ экскурсовода об имении, продегустировали местного вина. вино, кстати, отличное! билет за 7 лари как раз включает в себя бокал вина. к сожалению, фотографировать в музее запрещено.

Questa è stata per molti anni la residenza estiva dei Chvchavadze che tutt'ora appartiene agli eredi i quali ne curano lo stato.Il giardino è molto grande,ottimo per delle passeggiate non impegnative.Come nella maggior parte delle case museo c'è una svariata collezione di oggetti del passato appartenuti alla famiglia.La cosa curiosa è che in ogni stanza c'è un pianoforte,veri pezzi rari.Durante i lavori di riammodernamento di un'ala del palazzo sono venuti fuori i resti di una cantina che si credeva distrutta.La si può guardare solo dall'esterno da una finestrella.C'è un'usanza che fanno i visitatori,al centro della stanza c'è una pentola,se la si centra dalla finestrella con una moneta si dice che si avveri un desiderio....sarà vero?Vietato fotografare all'interno.
