Entrance fee is cheap so we decided to pop in. We spend there an hour. Surprise surprise, there was plants. What else can you expect from a botanical garden.

We visited the Botanic Garden whilst exploring Tartu City. The staff was preparing the indoor and outdoor gardens for winter so some areas where closed off to the public and the gardens where nicely maintained. The plants looked healthy and you could still smell a few fragrances but most flowers had died off. There is plenty of photo opportunities there in December if you use your imagination but I'm sure the place is beautiful in the summer.

We have been there in November when outdoor areas are not on display so we can be only half objective. The inside part was not up to standards. It's got a good selection of plants and a good potential, but unfortunately most plants and especially cacti were in a poor condition. Hopefully in summer the plants look better or at least the outside part compensates for a sad general impression in the tropical gardens.

Very nice garden. I visited during a cold month, so I wasn't able to see the vibrant and flamboyant colors that attracted so many people to the garden. Nevertheless, even in November the garden was nicely kept and looked gorgeous.

It is gorgeously landscaped, full of beautiful flowers of every kind and colour and with a scenic little lake, and it has lovely quiet corners where you can rest peacefully.

This garden is not so big how it is in other towns/cities but it's decorated in a specific, even unique, manner. I've never seen the place like the central meadow of this garden.Accurate pathways, a lot of benches and playground. Everything is well balanced and you don't have a feeling of exhibition there. If you take a bread you can feed fishes in the pond.

The entrance to the garden is free, you only have to pay for the greenhouse. The garden is really nice, but not very large (but free, have I mentioned that?). It has a lot of different plants and looks well-kept. The greenhouse has the usual stuff, a small rainforest section and a part with desert plants, but it's quite cute.

It is near the center of the town. Many beautiful flowers and plants, a little lake. Take some bread to feed the fish if you have little children with you.

I went to Botanical garden in spring time, and it was so big to chill around in this garden. There also have a lot of different type of flowers. As i know the June and July are the high season for rose. Besides, this garden is really close to city centre so that you don't need to worry going to be lost :) Btw, in the garden have a warehouse to grow some specific plant, it cost you 2 euro for the ticket !

This botanical garden is walled off, so it looks deceptively small, but when you enter, it's quite large with lots of mini-trails to explore. you see families bring picnics, kids playing on the playground, and just a good place to read a book or take a calming stroll. Some highlights: a large hollowed tree enough to fit a person, a gazebo, a small lake to feed fish and ducks (bring some bread)You can imagine if garden faeries lived anywhere, it would be here.

If you are nature lover and visiting Tartu, you must go and see how the team has managed the whole area. The outdoor part is free and very calm. Inside, you will find trees from all over the world and I was excited to find their bitter gourd (karela)!

This is quite a big botanical garden, with a lot of plants and shrubs. It has some places where you can sit and relax and enjoy the scent of the flowers. I was a bit disappointed with the rose garden. There were not many scented roses. it would also be nice if there would have been a cafeteria, where you could relax have a cup of coffee and enjoy the surroundings. But even without this we spent more than an hour in this beautiful garden. Certainly a must if you need a rest after a day walking around.

The garden is in the very center of the city and it is free of charge (the outdoor part of it). It is huge and if you are a garden fanatic like me, you'll love it! There are so many plants, trees, flowers there, all laid out well with signs. Every corner has its own character. Even my husband loved it and he is not a fan of gardens at all. This place is so beautiful and peaceful and you can just walk around or read a book if you don't like to take a closer look onto the main thing.

I could tell that the place would probably be beautiful in the summer, but being in Early Spring, nothing was blooming yet, so it wasn't very impressive this time of year.

Very nice place for a moment of relaxation. The garden is not huge, but there is just enough space for a walk and enough plants to make it interesting. In June the highlight of the visit was definitely the peony garden - lots of them there and in bloom. Fantastic! The littlle rose garden section was also pretty. The greenhouse was not interesting, so save your 3 EUR. No entrance fee for the outdoor areas.
