Folk Museum is well-known and attractive for tourists. I visited it last month and was surprised and amaized by it!I really like this museum for its beauty,wooden houses,churches,it shows us our history and rural traditions!Hurry up to visit it!By the way,in June,15,2013 it will be the first Cheese Festival!

Some friends took me here because I love history. I loved it. Folk art buildings, music, dancing, handicrafts, delicious local cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and highly recommend it to all.

I have visited this place many times and it's really beautiful. In fact, it's composed of authentic wooden houses and churches which were transported from historic belarusian places.

This museum has a collection of old wooden builidngs, gathered here for preservation purposes.Dark houses are grouped by region - Central Belarus, Pridneprovye, etc. There are dwelling, churches, mills and various barns, and antique tools and furniture is presented inside. It is not really very interesting, but definitely worth a visit on a nice day. On a rainy day, it''s gonna be a disaster, 'cause paths and roads conecting the grounds are not paved.There is a small restaurant ("Karchma") on the territory of the museum and it serves Belarusian food, though not of impressive quality. However, it's the only restaurant in the area.How to get there with public transport: take the metro to the "Institut Kultury" station (end of the blue line, South-West). Outside take a bus #35 (others might do as well, but I am only sure about this one) and go to the "Poldnevno-Zakhodnya" (South-Western) bus terminal. There, buy a ticket to Azyartso or "Musej" station. The bus will stop in front of a road sign to the museum, which is ca. 10 minutes away (you'll have to walk).

Pleasant place, a lot of space and nature around - expecially funny when folk festival is held

This place is a short drive from the centre of Minsk .Its very quiet and peaceful with plenty of old house and churchs.I brought my camera and took plenty of pictures.It was close to closing time when i got there but the people working there still left us in and reopened any house we wanted to look inside.

Strochitsy Outdoor Folk Museum is a gem, quite close to Minsk. Over time a range of historic farmsteads, country churches and other buildings have been shifted there and laid out in a very beautiful natural park setting by the river Ptitch (meaning "bird") . Each building has its appropriate layout, old garden, perhaps sunflowers, herbs or local flowers. We visited the museum twice on this visit. Once to see the Kupale (mid summer) festivities. The second visit was to the museum itself. Kupale was beautiful. There were singers dancers and people from the museum present,reinacting ancient mid summer traditions such as circle dances (xorovodi) chants, dance games to enable young people to find a future spouse and finally when the bonfire burnt down, people jumped the bonfire. Such celebrations are from ancient Belarusian culture and similar can be seen in Poland, the Baltic states and Russia. It is lovely to see them being revived. The traditional costumes and the fern and floral wreaths on their heads were beautiful.When we visited the museum the next day we had a guide who spoke English fairly well. Initially reserved, she became very animated when she realised we really were interested in the place and had a lot of questions to ask. Sometimes we were able to help her with some of the English names for specialized agricultural implements (my husbands area of knowledge) and this lead to a lengthy and fascinating tour - beyond what was paid for. But often in Belarus when visitors show they are genuinely interested, the people will go the extra mile and are very kind. We learned about the rituals of welcome in olden times when strangers arrived - and would need to stay because otherwise traveling would be dangerous (wolves etc) It was expected you know your genealogy 10 generations back, to show who you were!. There are male and female designated parts of the old farm houses and other fascinating things relating to occupation and costume.There are also picnic spots at the museum. We were shown a beautiful place by a grove of birch trees, wild strawberries growing underfoot. There was a picnic table and also a small metal BBq or shashlyk set up.There is another historical museum nearby - caled Duduki. While it is nice, it is more commercial and "theme park" style compared to this one.

Второй раз уже в этом музее. Очень приятное и интересное место. Понравилось то, что построено в виде деревни, а не просто выставлены дома один за другим. Очень нравится корчма в музее. готовят вкусно и не очень дорого.

Бываю там чуть ли не каждый год, летом, прекрасное место . Позволяет полностью окунуться в атмосферу белорусской народности , вспоминается бабушка и деревня и все так мило и легко, что не хочется уходить оттуда. Если хотите узнать что такое "вёска" и настоящая белорусская культура -вам туда, советовала бы обязательно посетить!) Тем более , что добраться туда довольно легко - с автовокзала юго-западный ходит автобус, а обратно можно на автобусе а можно на маршрутке , больше чем полчаса ждать на остановке точно не будете)Вход стоил кажется 30 000, но если вы студент будет скидка) Можете взять с собой еду плед и устроить маленький пикник )

Дерево - это что-то родное, поэтому деревянные строения всегда нас привлекали. А в этих домах еще и характерные элементы белорусского быта. Не бойтесь разговаривать с работниками музея и спрашивать обо всем, что видете. Эти доброжелательные люди отзывчивы и расскажут обо всём, что знают сами. А в местной корчме после прогулки (особенно, если не повезёт с погодой, как нам) сможете отогреться и попробывать блюда национальной кухни.

Это как раз тот случай, когда приятное совмещается с полезным - наряду с отдыхом на свежем воздухе (музей расположен в пригороде Минска) можно познакомиться с культурой и традициями белорусской деревни. В музее периодически устраиваются выставки, народные гулянья и тематические мероприятия с реконструкцией старинных обрядов. На территории действует корчма, можно купить оригинальные сувениры ручной работы. Strongly recommended!
