Enjoyed the beautiful grounds but didn't know there were deer in the grounds. Would have loved to see them. The house was interesting but wasn't impressed with the huge amount of antlers hanging on the walls representing dead deer !!

A fantastic history lesson there and then . Great displays of the family history and who they are? The castle is in fantastic condition and the staff are very friendly and know their stuff about the castle.Only downside on the day it was very cold in the castle. But well worth the visit

The castle is a short walk from the camping and caravan park through a nice alley with big trees (although not as big as Diana's trove). When we arrived the weather got cloudy and decided to give the castle a try. It is very nice with a interesting round through the different rooms including some special collections (I remember laces and snuff boxes) on display. In every room is some description for what is on display and we subsequently spent 2.5 hours in the castle enjoying the various displays and artworks (there are a lot of them). Then our little son got bored and decided to go for the (delicious) cake in the cafeteria. The girls took an hour longer and then also wanted some delicious cakes ...When we got out the weather was sunny again and we wandered through the impressive gardens including Diana's (the hunter goddess, not the princess) trove with some of the biggest British trees. Altogether we spend more than 6 hours there and thus we missed the Edradour distillery tour...

beautifully serene!!!! gardens are lovely .. plenty of walks and make sure you say hello to the chickens who are roaming free and very very friendly... the castle itself is out of this world like a fairytale... and the history that goes with it is as exciting as the castle itself!! .. enjoy ppl x

The castle is full of historic relics with rooms furnished in 17-18 century style. The walled garden is full of local and exotic plants and is perfect for sitting in on a sunny day .

Just entering the castle takes your breathe away, old ruined castles are fine but entering a lived in castle is better. Each room has a story and staff throughout are there to give you any advice you need or tell you a story of the castle. We have yet to go here in the summer when the gardens are at their best.

My wife and I had a limited budget for seeing castles during our tour of Scotland. We were really glad that we used part of it to see Blair Castle. It was well worth the visit with all of the rooms that are available to the public (30 in all) such as the beautiful period rooms, the family history portrayed, the different types of weapons displayed, the great hall. The Hercules garden was very nice and well laid out. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside can also be had from the estate. We drove up to Blair Castle from Edinburgh, which is just off of the motorway and twas easy to find.

Located just off the A9 -B8079 near Blair AthollPerth to Inverness roadA wonderful Castle -not cheap , but to me, worth the costUnique Military items, and everything else you would expect from a Castle. A woodland with rare trees within it -some are the largest of their type in Britain. A nice walk. and a well run restaurant, again not cheap. The whole experience in my opinion was worth the cost.

Reasonably priced for the amount to see and do. We started our visit to the Hercules Gardens, an extensive well laid out garden incorporating a large pond with bridges and a number of small structures used to house the local wild life. Take the walk up to the old ruined church before venturing back to the castle via the woodland area. Within the woodland you will see some of the tallest trees that can be found in the British Isles. The castle itself is beautifully preserved with an extensive collection of arms, mounted animal trophies and much more. I would allow your-self at least 3 to 4 hours to see most of the estate. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We were met at reception. The walls are covered with all sorts of weapons. Amazing! It is possible to buy a guidebook here, however, we chose to just use the information cards in each of the rooms. There were also some beautiful tapestries. We ended our visit with a lovely cup of coffee in the tea rooms

This is a beautiful Castle with expansive gardens and wild deer. Also excellent tour guides with a tot of whiskey on entry as a welcome.. There are numerous rooms inside the castle with an excellent restaurant. Most rooms are open to the general public, where you can walk around at your leisure. Numerous exhibits well worth looking at.

We happened to visit the weekend of the fiddle and bagpipe championships. We visited the castle on the Friday and toured the castle rooms and the Hercules garden. There are lots of rooms to see and the garden is beautiful even on a dull day. The food in the restaurant was very good and well priced, also gluten free choice. We attended the world fiddle championships on the Sunday and had a fabulous afternoon.
