My wife gave me a Cambs Wine School voucher as a Christmas present, so we went along to the entertaining and tasty champagne and sparkling wine evening at Cambridge Brewhouse. Mark was informative, funny and not at all pretentious. Blind tasting the prosecco, cava and champagne was tricky ! The wines were excellent and varied. I never knew champagne had red grapes in it ! or that the bottles were hand turned. The piece de resistance was the sabre opening the champagne bottle trick ! I have seen this done badly and it ended in tears. However, Mark knows his stuff and no ambulances were required. The fish and chips were also excellent. Lovely evening. Thank you. We will be back for more !

We had family visiting from Spain, so looking for an interesting and enlightening activity to do in Cambridge we came across the Cambridgeshire Wine School course for wine and cheese pairing. The evening was very entertaining, incredibly informative and was held in the splendid Royal Cambridge Hotel, which was very grand. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all! They cannot wait to come back next time and sample the Champagne and Fish and Chips night....

Mark knows about wines. Dot. And he enjoys sharing his wonderful cultural background about wines and wineyards with the lucky ones who can get into his highly sought after wine tasting course! A friend had wine tasting for her birthday, demonstrated by Mark. It was amazing, he explained concepts really well and was funny. And I don't even like wine! Very enjoyable :)

Really enjoyed the day! So much so that I went pout and bought a mixed case at my local Majestic! Was able to talk about what I had liked from the tasting and select some new labels I had not tried before. Even trolling the isles at Sainsbury's was an eye opener. Gone are they days of hoping that what I have bought will taste OK!Mark was charming and amusing!

I have now attended a number of Mark’s course and I must say they just get better and better.When I first attended a course a remember being concerned that everyone else would know far more than me about wine and I’d look silly. That wasn’t the case. Mark does an expert job of making sure everyone gains knowledge at their own rate and at their own level. Now I have been back a number of times my knowledge has increased massively and I now feel able to have a conversation with a sommelier and be confident about what I am talking about. If you are thinking of going on a course with Mark, which ever one I’d say stop thinking and start doing! You will not regret it.

My parents booked this for me and my girl friend as it was something we had often talked about wanting to do. We were on one of the Saturday Intro courses and had a great day trying a wide selection of different wines and learnt masses about them in the process. It was a relaxed and fun day but was full of facts and info about wines from around the world. I would definitely recommend this to any one and would consider any of Mark's other courses in the future.

Booked wine tasting for my friends hen do and we all had a great time. Mark was a great host, informative and funny. We learnt a lot and enjoyed seeing the bride to be open a bottle of champagne with a sword!

A gift was given to my husband and I which was brilliant as it is something I have had on my 'bucket list' for a long time.The day didn't disappoint. We learnt a huge amount about many different wines including the 'aroma' of 'struck match (sulphur) somewhat unexpected, even to Mark.Mark had a good style about him, the explanations and presentation easy going and professional.Other guests interesting and friendly. Venue and lunch most acceptable.Will definitely go again and would highly recommend this day out.

After having heard from a former student at my school about the knowledge he gained from this course and the benefit he gained whilst looking for jobs in the wine trade, I decided to give it a go. It was a very interesting course with a number of insights into what you can tell about a wine and it's flavour from the grape and characteristics of the region, and what type of food to match the wine with. All in all a good and enjoyable, yet educational day out! Salut!
