My husband and I took our 4 year old and a 1,5 year old on the tour of the house. This place is so unique, it is surrounded by blooming trees: jasmine and others, so through the entire walk we enjoy the natural fragrance of the garden. Also, there weren't too many steps to deter us from bringing little kids with us. The house is light and uplifting, the gardens a designed beautifully and appear harmonious. The gift shop was great as well. It has a nice selection of stained glass pieces and wine glasses, also jewelry and ornaments. Will definitely recommend, take your time and enjoy this place.

The Winchester Mystery House was interesting to see but a little pricy. We just did the mansion tour and it was $33 each for the one hour guided tour. The tour groups are pretty large (about 25 people) but the tour guide waited for everyone before speaking which was appreciated. It might be nicer if the groups were a little smaller since some of the areas are quite small. The guides tell you facts about the family, Mrs. Winchester and her desire for constant construction. They offer an additional tour of the grounds but we didn't feel that it was worth the extra money. Parking is free and on site. Photography is not allowed inside the mansion. I'm glad that I saw the house but I probably wouldn't go again.

Combine a wealthy heiress with a knack for invention and a belief in the supernatural, with the sudden deaths of her husband and son, and a small farmhouse. This was the start of one of the most unusual construction projects ever undertaken in the United States. Sarah Winchester believed that unless carpenters were building constantly on a small farmhouse she purchased the spirits of those killed by the gun her family developed would claim her too. The result is a fascinating home with stairs leading to the ceiling, doors which open into walls, and a house even Mrs. Winchester needed a map to travel within. The home is absolutely fascinating and the grounds contain museums of the Winchester rifle. This is worth every penny!

I went there with large business team as lunch and fun activity.- not much to it except a big odd house- no real archtectural marvel- very expensive if i remember correctly- do not recommend to anyone, will not go again

Going to the Winchester Mystery House is worth going to at least once. Though personally, I would be glad to go again and again! The house itself is beautiful and your interest is held throughout the whole tour with the interesting facts about the house, history, and facts about Sara Winchester. No paranormal activities happened while I was there, but that did not take away from how much I enjoyed this trip and the house. The grounds are beautiful and the service provided is top notch. My tour guide knew her history and made an effort to include everyone in the tour. I took the extra tour as well which is good to go to once, but not needed to get a feeling for the house, though you do learn interesting facts that otherwise you would never know. Overall, I definitely recommend this trip!!

We are a family of three and the basic tour cost over $90 even with a $3 per person off coupon found in a flyer. The house itself was interesting, but the real beauty is the outside grounds and house. Definitely not worth the high admission.

Pricey tickets cost our family of four $116 and that's with finding a coupon online. Worth seeing once but would not spend that amount to go again. We wanted to see behind scenes tour also but spending $116 figured smaller tour would be just fine.

This was exactly what I needed after a hectic week on the road for business. I went by myself on a weekend morning, so it was less about the spooky stuff and more about the history this time. But I can see how this would be great spooky fun on one of the Friday the 13th tours, Flashlight Tours, or any time around October. But the spooky isn't necessary if you like history, architecture, and hearing about the odd eccentrics of the unimaginably rich. The tour guide was fun, witty, and really knowledgeable. The tour was a lot of walking, but at a slow pace and route that elderly will be able to handle easily. I really recommend seeing it if you have heard of the legend and have 90 minutes to kill (longer if you also want to tour the gardens, which I did not get to do).

We took the grand tour for 40$ per person. It was ok but definitely not worth the price, 10$ at most. It's just a house with a few weird features but nothing crazy.

We really enjoyed our visit. The tour guides do a great job and gave us a lot of very interesting information. The grounds are wonderful. We took both the main house tour and the behind the scenes and garden tour. Loved both of them. The hype about "mystery" is just that - hype, but that isn't why we went - we went for the historical attraction and were not disappointed!

My teen daughter and I enjoyed walking in the gardens and taking the 1-hour tour of the house. The stories about the owner and the times were quite interesting to us. And, everyone else on our tour (about 16 people) seemed engaged too. It's pretty expensive ($30 each), but it was nice to do something different from other city tourist things.

Absolutely loved the tour. Lots of fun facts and stories about the history of the house and its builder.

You've seen it on Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters, but those don't really make this place such a worthy adventurer of its own right, unless you do it on your own without the expectation that something COULD or MIGHT happen while you are there. It's not about any of that at all! It's about Sara Winchester, and a home she built to keep away from the spirits as she was told to do by a psychic of the time when she felt really depressed and thinking that death was happening to those around her for a reason. To keep away from the spirits that were haunting her, the levels that were built and windows and doors that were placed here and there ambiguously, were for a reason and fully intentional. Surely, these placements were very odd, but when you look around, you will get your own opinion of the place. Our guide, Terry, was AWESOME! He almost seemingly belonged there. Everything he said you could tell wasn't just rehearsed, but made sure that his own personal understanding made the difference in the guests that went through the home. We only did the mansion tour and even for someone with a visual impairment, they can enjoy this home. Now, our own experiences were amazing though - trailing behind the group a bit for navigational and experience reasons, made the most of what we may get out of it ourselves. Without expectations, we "felt" a cold presence follow us and then pass through my wife and past my arm (since I was leading my wife though the house), and man, you felt the absence of the presence once we got to a certain point in the home. I won't disclose "where" so you have the opportunity to maybe feel these things yourselves. Our stories were confirmed a bit more once we ended the tour and asked our guide more about if he's seen or felt her before. We're sure it was Sara Winchester, and knew more later as a figure of around 4' tall was hanging around our room for a short amount of time and then left my wife's side. This was seen during a FaceTime conversation with our oldest daughter, who promptly wanted to end the call and will not, to this day, FaceTime with either of us anymore even within the same home she lives with us in. So, for $33 per adult, you can experience the mystery, and maybe even meet Mrs. Winchester herself somewhere in the home. Next time we visit, we'll explore the gardens a bit, and just have a wonderful time with more time.

A mystery is aint, except that Sarah Winchester was pretty stange with her drive to continue building 24 hours a day to protect her from all the lost souls due to the Winchester rifle. So take unlimited money and a crazy woman and you get an interesting look into a buggie and carriage era fancy house. It is interesting from an architectural standpoint, and the grounds/gardens are nice. Expensive tour, but still something most locals, and many San Jose visitors (lots of tour buses) do once.
