I wasn't sure if my 5 and 8 year olds would like a trip to the museum, but they surprised me by loving the art and the train next door! My oldest's favorite was, of course, the planetarium, and was even going on and on about the "moon walls". He's already saying he wants his birthday party there!

Attractive museum, but I like going to the KOCH IMMERSIVE THEATER; it is newly remodeled. Very nice movie content and knowledgeable staff. It is in the museum, but a separate charge, you do not have to pay for both, just the one you want to go to .

The Evansville Museum is interesting. In my opinion they need more natural science, but they did have some neat hands on basic science exhibits, fine art, and a good WW2 exhibit. The transportation exhibit in the building to the east is included and was rather enjoyable. Our 3 year old really enjoyed checking out the trains. The immersive theater is neat, not spectacular, but neat.

Went recently with the family - two youngest boys are 11 and 4. Oldest didn't accompany us this trip. The newer kids area was really well done; it engaged all of us with lots of interaction. The rest of the museum is more hands off, but still very informative and interesting. There was enough variety to keep my 4yo from running around in boredom. I have always loved the history and art on display at this museum. Lots of local history, with photos, artifacts, and models. The train exhibit was very exciting for the kids. We didn't visit the planetarium this trip, but have done so in the past and truly enjoyed it. It is definitely a local treasure. With younger children, don't expect to spend more than a couple of hours here (maybe two to four, depending on how patient your children are and whether or not you visit the planetarium for a show). Adults who enjoy art/history could easily spend several hours enjoying the exhibits.

Saw the new planetarium show about our planet and solar system. Everyone really enjoyed it. The Children's exploratory exhibit a few steps away is great also. Lots of stuff to do and see.

It was a great place to see history in the making and about Evansville too, the price to get in was fair and the people who ran the place was great.

I grew up going to this museum and it has been upgraded and expanded several times over the years. The local history is well done and the setting in the riverfront park is very nice.

I'm so impressed with the Evansville Museum and the improvements they have made. Affordable admission and a lot of interesting exhibits. I'm really proud of our museum.

Wow! We normally like outdoor activities, but this museum looked so appealing from the outside that we came back after biking along the river. We ended up with just 2 hours and that isn't nearly enough time. The hands-on science is fun. The historic river town settings are very well done. The special exhibit THROUGH THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE- FABRIC OF SURVIVAL was amazing fiber art telling a moving story. And then there is the artwork!! And then there is the planetarium show. Your admission also includes the train exhibit and museum next to the main museum. All of it is outstanding!

Labour Day exhibit of the USS LST Ship built by Lego staff. For our first visit to the Evansville area located on the Ohio river across the border from Kentucky I was interested in the history of the city during WW2 and the fact that the local industry played a major part in the ship building especially the LST that shipped the tanks and trucks to the European war zone.

We saw Fragile Planet at the immersion theater today. It was really neat and a perfect length of time (about 45 minutes). I only wish the seats reclined somewhat. I feel like the entire concept could be better appreciated if you could lean back for a more inclusive view. Definitely recommend, especially for the price! $5 bucks! You can't beat that!

Our family loved this museum. Our museum membership card to another science museum allowed us to get into this museum for free. We did need to pay for the planetarium ($5 a person), but the sea creatures show we saw was one of our favorite parts of visiting Evansville. Part of the museum is hands on science activities - very well done. Another part is the history of Evansville and a 3rd part is an art museum - also wonderful. Our visit also allowed us to go to the Evansville Transportation Museum which was just across the parking lot. This muesum small but fun to climb on old trains.

We arrived late and were only able to catch the last showing at the Planetarium when we arrived. It was amazing!! We highly recommend checking it out!!!

We had friends in town from Florida. Needed something to do on a rainy day. Had heard about the new and improved museum. We were so happy with our choice! Saw the movie first about natural disasters...very good. Then spent a couple hours going through the history of Evansvile, which was very enjoyable. Only had another hour so didn't get through the artwork section, but what we saw was just wonderful. The old bear is still there from my childhood but everything else was way beyond my childish memories. Although, we did take the time to 'play' in the interactive section as well. A truly enjoyable day! So happy that it rained :-)
