What a great side trip to make while in Maui. Had a tour by Gina and it was very informative and fun. The distillery is not very big and the tour really isn't about walking about, more about the information pertaining to this vodka (and now rum!). We learned a lot and it was totally fun to see where the vodka is actually distilled and bottled. The new round bottles are beautiful and remind us of the japanese fish floats that used to wash up on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Oh, and the vodka is wonderful. It really has a unique flavour and is a must have! What a great idea also to have the martini garden and encourage guests to take a clipping home to make a special cocktail from the delicious vodka. The rum also has a really distinctive flavour and you can really tell it comes from the sugar cane. Take this trip up country….it is worth it and the drive is also a lot of fun. You pay a paltry $10 each for the tour but you get to taste the vodka and rum and we also got a free shot glass each. Go! You won't regret it!

We learned a lot about sugar cane and how they make both the vodka and rum. Plus our host, Yo, Adrian!, was great. I never knew there was an art to tasting vodka. Our group even got a free gift (shot glass) since we got caught in the middle of a tour bus stopping in.

Ocean Vodka distillery is an interesting and beautiful place in Kula. Andrea was an exceptional guide. It costs $10 for the tour, but it is well worth it. There is a tasting at the end which is a lot of fun.

I love farm and food tours. This tour of Ocean Vodka and now Rum was very entertaining and educational. Our guide took us through the process each step of the way and it ended with a vodka tasting. How convenient it is too, close to Surfing Goat Diary

Great idea in making use of all the sugar cane on Maui as its sustainable. The owners seem to really care for the environment and about the people who work for them. It was a treat to see it was all "hand made" farm to glass. I wish them a prosperous future. Our tour guide was very well educated in the product. Sorry, can't remember her name but she was very nice and had a good laugh with me in regards to my new husbands use of an umbrella. Mahalo!

We have visited Maui several times and just this year heard of the Ocean Vodka Distillery. First noticed a large display of the organic and gluten free Ocean Vodka in its unique earth shaped blue bottle at the Kihei Safeway! After a Google search, my husband and I decided to make an outing from our comfy beach setting and visit the distillery/farm and what a nice little surprise. Appreciate your family story, organic, and sustainable farming methods! Definitely take the 30-40 minute tour and taste the vodka. Thank you Gina. On our return to the beach we stopped at the Sugar Museum for a very quick visit of sugar processing history and then on to a delicious gluten free dinner at the Brick Oven in Kehei which is another family run business. Perfect afternoon in Maui!

The location is great. Magnificent views of east and west shores. The tour is short and very informative. The staff is top notch. Well worth the trip.

A great drive up in the Kula area of Maui produced a fun tour and a great tasting of Maui rum and Vodka.Adrienne our 'Super' guide for our visit was exceptional at explaining the distillation process of the local Ocean Vodka and Rum.Our group took home several bottles of the liquor elixir to enjoy back at the condo. A beautiful place to enjoy a wonderful tour.

We are not Vodka or rum fans but it was still a great tour and we learned a lot. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because we did not see any of the actual harvesting or processing, just the equipment. The buildings, the grounds and equipment were so clean and impressive and the process well explained. The free shot glass was fun and made for a great gift! We were also able to find some decently priced gifts in their shop for friends and family back home. Know that their women's t-shirts run small but we loved the design.

Vodka is about pretty much pure alcohol. The more pure the better. Ocean has a great model by desalinating deep sea water that has traveled by deep ocean currents from the far reaches of the high latitudes. What could be finer? Plus, the concept of using traditional sugar cane varieties as the base for the vodka making. Brilliant. They are practically a DNA depository for sugar cane. Nice thing to do. And the vodka is great. Mucho good karma.

What an amazing time!! Ivory, you were, awesome. Totally worth the time and drive. Excellent. If you like vodka, it's a must do! And the view is the umbrella in your cocktail.

Our guide was so enthusiastic, engaging and passionate about Ocean Vodka. Learning about the different kinds of sugar cane, learning about the deep ocean water used to make the vodka, and seeing the high tech distilling towers made for an educational, fun and unique tour. Sampling the vodka and rum was fun, too!

Not only are their products high quality, but the tour is fun and the view is spectacular! We've been on this tour twice with different visiting guests, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Maui. Dave the tour guide knows his stuff! He recognized us from the last time we were there, so he made things interesting for us by pointing out what's been updated since we were there last. And what a view! Their great lawn is beautiful with the valley spread out beneath them, and the West Maui Mountains in the distance. Facing east, if the cloud cover isn't too bad the view up Mt. Haleakala is impressive! As the title says, even if you're not a vodka or rum enthusiast, you still need to visit! If you do like them, look for their bottles on the mainland and support their business! They deserve it!
