Even if you are not a wine drinker, you should stop here and take the tour just for the history lesson and an overview of the winemaking process. You may omit the tour and still sample the award winning Stone Hill wines - be prepared to wait for a spot at the tasting bar especially if you visit on a fall weekend.

This was a nice stop for our group. After spending some time in the tasting room the 9 of us went to the wine and made quite a dent. I think we totaled 4 cases bought. Even our non wine drinking friends bought two bottles. To bad it was not warmer.

The wines are great, and there's a huge selection to choose from! The cellar tour was really informative and you get to sample the wine for free! I found several to take home that I liked and they all seemed reasonably priced. The gift shop is to die for with all the wine themed items and t-shirts to choose form, something for everyone - that's for sure. They even had chilled bottles of wine, so we grabbed one and roamed the grounds for a while. A visit back later in the year to eat at the German food restaurant will be a great follow up trip, and we will restock on wine while we're there!

If nothing else, you have got to take a tour of this place. The tour guides are very knowledgeable, the winery is very historic. Tons of facts worthy of a school field trip, as well as detailed explanations of the wine-making process. But the tastings are also excellent. The wines are very good and there's no cost for a tasting. The hosts do a pretty good job of keeping up with everything going on, but I don't know how. Our host was filling glasses of at least 4 groups and our group had 8 people in it.The gift shop is amazing. Almost anything you can imagine that is wine-related is there. There's an indoor patio area with some nice tables so you can purchase some wine and enjoy it right there. They'll even open the bottle for you. They've got lots of bottles already chilled, or you can grab one that is room temperature. It's a beautiful winery with some nice views. There's even a restaurant, but we didn't get to eat there since it's closed in January.Even the rest room was nice. This whole facility has been kept up very nicely.Other than the restaurant being closed, this was an excellent winery visit. I'll definitely be back for more.

Not as much fun historical stuff at Hermannhof, however, prices of wine are better and also the wine tasting was free. I don't know about you, but when I travel, I'm on a budget, so that's a big bonus to me! Very nice gift shop here and even if this area is crowded there is plenty of room to get around, which is a big plus.

We visited the winery on a recent trip, found the best bottle of red offered in Hermann and enjoyed the time with our family. Only two small complaints: We don't typically travel to wine country with our wine glasses in hand, especially during the winter...so we had to purchase glasses when we bought the bottle of wine...that's frustrating. Also, the staff needs to be a bit more accommodating when it comes to tables and chair for people. I saw numerous instances of people 'fighting' over a table or chair...no one wants to enjoy their wine standing up. They definitely have the space to put out more seating...and for their customers, they should!

I came here with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved this winery!! The tasting room was so much fun! The man pouring the wine (I really wish I could remember his name!) showed us the best time. He was hilarious and had everyone cracking up and the wine was superb. The grounds are gorgeous. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious. We both had a great time and felt like we got a lot for our money.

We spent a beautiful morning touring the St George Rectory, which was decorated for Christmas, then went to the winery restaurant for lunch. The service was outstanding! We got the warm baked pretzels for an appetizer, and they were amazing and served with a warm white cheese sauce. The spaetzel was served with nice pieces of sausage, mushrooms and spinach with a light blue cheese sauce. Potato pancakes and chunky applesauce were authentic, crispy and delightful.A sausage sampler plate came with red cabbage that had just the right zing. The Rueben sandwich was large and served on marble rye bread. Even the warm rolls were special, my favorite was the rye variety, although the pumpernickel was also very good! We enjoyed a bottle of wine, and our water glasses were kept filled for a delightful long lunch. The atmosphere in what must have been a very nice stable only added to a great day!

We visited as part of the wine and cheese trail this past weekend. Loved the winery. The view from the hillside is lovely. We took the wine tour (recommended) and learned alot about the area and the winery. Would love it if the wine could be shipped to Pennsylvania :(

Went there with the family. Awesome facts about Missouri winery's. The tastings at the ends far exceeded my expectations. Everyone that worked there was so nice. Couldn't have asked for a better experience while in Branson!

Stone Hill has so much to offer. We've been there many times in the past and always have a good experience. This trip was during the "off" season and we were welcomed warmly. They do not charge for wine tasting, but I was eager to leave a good tip since we were allowed to sample so many of their wines. (Most places charge and restrict tasting to a certain number.) Ray was our host and he was very funny and entertaining. The gift shop is very large and has some interesting items. We come here every time we're in Hermann. Oh, and the wines are very good, too.

Beautiful view, surprisingly situated within a Hermann residential neighborhood. Friendly staff, lovely solarium, great shopping. Be sure to have lunch or dinner at the Vintage 1847 restaurant - delicious!

The Stone Hill Winery is a very interesting place. It's hard to imagine that at one time (prior to prohibition) it was the third largest winery in the world. They have tours through the storage areas, but not through the actual wine making areas, and have a great tasting area to sample the wide variety of wines produced there. In addition, there is a restaurant on the site with outstanding food.

We took their wine cellar tour, and it was very informative - they told us a lot of their history and I learned a lot! Wine tasting at the end of the tour was nice and relaxing as well.

We spent most of an evening here. Started with the winery tour which was very interesting due to our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. The old winery buildings are very impressive. We followed up with a wine tasting and our pourer Ray was excellent, very funny and entertaining, best and most fun tasting we've ever experienced. He told jokes, poured and talked about the wines the entire time. And tasting only costs $2.50! Finished up the evening at the restaurant which is located in the old stables so you sit in the former horse stalls and eat, a unique and intriguing atmosphere. Food was excellent. We both had jaegerschnitzel which was large, tender and delicious, as were the potato salad and red cabbage. Highly recommend
