This little house has some nice examples of quilting. If you are interested in this craft, pay a visit.

We stopped by the museum while spending the week at Massanutten. To our disappointment, the sign on the door showed that they were closed for 2 months, until 2/3/15. A 2 month closure seems excessive.

You don't have to be a quilter to enjoy this museum. The quilts are beautiful and there is a gift shop as well. It is small but worth seeing.

I am not a quilter, but thought it would be interesting to go to a quilting museum. I was expecting to hear more about the history of quilts.

This is a small museum, but the quilts are absolutely beautiful. It only takes 1/2 hour to go through and they sell some quilting items.

If you love quilts this place is a must see. If I lived in the area I would love to see what's in store for their future rotating exhibits.

Visited this museum while waiting for 4th of July events. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Quilts were beautiful! Loved all the info displayed on both the quilts and the house. Entry fee for the gallery was $7 which I didn't mind paying but noticed that later that day they offered free tours. Would have been nice to know earlier...

While we were on vacation at the Massanutten Resort we rode into Harrisonburg to check out the town. Decided to go to the quilt museum and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was very friendly and I think we paid $7 a piece to tour the museum. They had quilts from the local area and and from the Tidewater area of Virginia. The quilts were amazing, old and new, very unique pieces of art. Would highly recommend this place, we loved it

A quilt museum may not sound that exciting but this was really enjoyable. We marveled at the handiwork. The quilts dedicated to 9/11 were dramatic, as were the ones from the Civil War era, with the stories of the quilters.

If you are looking for a place to do volunteer work (Or get away from the house, kids, etc!), this place is it! They welcomed me and my two children to work as docents and shop clerks, and my daughter Rachel participated in a quilting exhibit at the tender age of 10! Her very first quilt! Love, love, love the VA Quilt Museum- It is worth your time and effort to stop in and see the volunteers- they actually do quilting and sewing while waiting for you to arrive, so they can inspire you and get you excited about a dying art form! Please, please, please stop in! Also- For all the colleges who have art programs- this is an excellent place to have students who are working on learning how to critique art work- This is how I became a volunteer- learned about fabric, design, and so much more. We moved away, but every time we come back to the area, I ALWAYS make it a point to stop in and see everyone and learn some more! And to the Civil War history buffs and the 150th anniversary- another stop well worth your time! :)

Though small, the Virginia Quilt Museum is nonetheless worth a visit. There are always permanent exhibits, as well as three special shows each year. The museum honors classical styles and modern quilting as well, often during the same show.Anyone interested in fabrics and quilting will find something captivating to spend time with here.

My husband and I visited here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. We toured the whole museum in about 40 minutes and not sure we could have stretched it out. The quilts all have the little descriptions by them and most of them have fascinating history. There is a very small gift shop but we didn't buy anything. I would recommend but don't expect to spend hours here.

Thank you very much for visiting the Virginia Quilt Museum! I'm delighted that you enjoyed your visit. Our exhibits and building are truly worth visiting for those that love art and history. I understand that the $7 admission fee may seem high, but it barely covers 13% of the museum's annual expenses. "Living" in a historic house and caring for our lovely collection can be quite a drain on the checkbook. So, thank you for visiting and helping us keep the doors open for more people to enjoy the beauty of what we have to offer.Your kind review is very much appreciated. Again, thank you very much and we hope you will visit us again soon. Our exhibits change three times per year.

The Museum is in an old house which is very interesting with wonderful fireplace surrounds and floor. The quilts are displayed on three floors and there is a wonderful gift shop offering items for the quilter as well as non quilter. The display changes three times a year. Well worth the trip.

This museum is a great stop as you travel 81. It is in the downtown area and is in walking distance to several eating places. Parking is easy and right behind the museum. The exhibits rotate so return visits are just as fresh. There is a delightful gift shop with fun "quilter" presents. The admission price is well worth the visit.
