wood brothers museum

We stopped by to check the musuem out since we are NASCAR fans and we were really impressed. Glen was at the front desk with his wife, who runs the place, so we got to talk and take a few pictures with him. A really friendly person who took the time to talk to us. After he left we found out that his wife was just as friendly and took the time to answer some of our questions. We were in the back of the museum and saw Leonard come in to grab something so we missed talking to him. Lots of memorabilia to see in addition to race cars from the past to present to look at. They had one employee working with them that gave us a tour of the shop in the back of the museum, she was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the race team who have been around for over 60 years. Definitely recommend stopping by if in the area even if you are not a NASCAR fan...it may make you become one!!!! Don't think they don't have any set hours of operation so it may be worth calling first to make sure they are open.

This was my first visit to a "racing" museum. It was very small, but this museum didn't cover all of Nascar--just ALL of the Woods Brothers racing history. I started with a display of Trevor Bayne's Daytona win last year. There were several of his this things on display including his car "wrap", helmet, uniform, and the trophy. There were trophies,, articles, etc concerningWoods Brothers Nascar drivers from 50+ years ago. My favorite thing, though, was the fact that the woman operating the museum was none other than Glen Woods wife, Bernece. I don't know much about the history of the Woods Brothers racing. However, I left there knowing a lot more than I did before I walked in. If you are in Stuart, check it out! (Better get online for the hours first--they aren't open everyday.)
