While off the beaten path, the Daniel Webster house is worthy of a visit. Nice drive to get there and rich in history.

It makes one realize what small living quarters were available during this historical time. The restoration is great and the wealth of history is appealing to the history buff.

It will probably take you as long to get here from the highway as it does to listen to the talk by the knowledgeable docent, but it's a nice drive and an informative talk. There's not too much to see - a 2-room house relocated to its original site. As a native New Hampshirite, I'm ashamed to say I had forgotten much of Daniel Webster's story, to it was good to be reminded of who he was and how many different ways he served our country. If you are into geocaching, there are two in the area. Website says entrance fee is $7, but it was free. Also only open on weekends in summer. Port-a-pottie across the street in parking lot.

I have gone the past 2 years and the docent there is very knowledgeable and kind-- a wonderful experience.
