cascade meadow wetlands & environmental science center

We took our cub scout pack there for a "go see it" and I came away pretty impressed. Lots of hands on stuff, interesting and relevant displays, and neat architecture.

Most small cities don't have an environmental science center of the calibre of Cascade Meadow.The design of the area including the parking areas, the wind turbines, the ponds, and the surrounding areas are a great challenge to do our best to be environmentally aware. They offer excellent programs especially for youth.Thanks for being here.

I happened to attend a rain garden seminar on my last visit. I found that very informative. After the seminar, I looked around at the exhibits which are small and probably geared towards grade school groups. Interesting, but not captivating for adults.I'm not sure why there isn't more focus on adult visitors. I don't think I could spend 1hr looking at all the displays. I think i would see everything, read everything and be done in that time.

My husband and I went to the Cascade Meadow Wetlands and Environmental Science Center for a community education class. We didn't know it was there prior the class, but it is really awesome. If you have any interest in energy efficiency or even just science, it is a neat place the check out. There are lots of different displays. We didn't take a formal tour, but it would probably be beneficial to set something up so you get the most information out of the experience.

We went to explore and learn more about water in Rochester. My son enjoyed playing in the RPU section with appliances and their energy usage. There's a great view of their meadow land and a hands on area about water usage.
