Hi, Anna.I see we’re your first Trip Advisor review; and an impressive one to boot; albeit a year in the making! You’ve made so many points I’m not sure I can adequately assuage any of your concerns, so I’d like to comment on a couple of the big ones.Safety. Our track record shows we’ve done an amazing job of keeping riders and wranglers safe during the rides we offer. This is why we instituted Cowboy Camp. That way we can introduce experienced riders and non-horse people to our horses so they bond before even the introduction of a saddle. That said, people, on occasion, fall off. If you’ll recall on the day of your ride in 2014, we had an individual who just couldn’t relax and spooked the horse of our wrangler, Josh – who subsequently injured his leg. Josh did NOT break his leg, but is was a pretty bad bruise and it hurt for a few days for sure. We were tending to our other guests to ensure their ride wrapped up safely so one guest did offer to drop Josh off at the clinic that was on their way home and was in no way an imposition. In fact, our commitment to guest safety was such that, even though Josh’s leg hurt like heck, he accompanied our uneasy guest safely back to the stable before tending to his own injury.Pre-payment. In the eleven years we’ve been providing trail rides, and only at the insistence of two guests, have we ever taken money up front; however, you not one of them. We totally stand by our guarantee that if your ride isn’t the most exciting, adventurous and informative ride you’ve ever had, it’s free. Even in spite of our wrangler, Josh, hurting his leg, eight of the other guests that day reported that they had the kind of experience we promised. You said you’d do the ride again; however, with all of that being said, even though your ride was over a year ago, if you feel we didn’t live up to our guarantee, we’ll give your money back right now. Please give us a call so we can arrange your refund today! Thanks for your review. We’ll look forward to your call.

Greetings, Dieg4....Thanks for proving what we always tell folks! Our hope is that everyone has the same experience as you and will share with others. You are a great guest and we hope to see you again. As for the knees, being that I'm not a spring chicken, it's a climb to get back to where I want; however, each day is a little closer. Thanks for asking!Until we see you again, Happy Trails my friend.

Howdy, Steph.Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the rest of the Trip Advisor community! We loved having you at our ranch. The old adage that, "anything that sounds too good to be true, most always is" was the very reason we make such an audacious promise to provide the most exciting, informative and exhilarating experience or it's free.We have to laugh that the other social media company won't put any of our guests' reviews under their "Recommended" reviews because they read like your Trip Advisor review. We'd love to have you back anytime; but until we do, Happy Trails to your and yours.

Hey, Benj. What a great recount of your day. I have to laugh at how many people don't know how well they can ride until they go through our Cowboy Camp and get to know a horse up close and personal and learn to trust the horse while the horse gains trust in you.We promised an exciting and exhilarating ride and looks like we lived up to our promise again! Thanks for sharing your experience with the Trip Advisor world and we hope you'll come back again soon!Happy Trails until we meet again.

Howdy, Jennifer. I read your review and at first thought, with you having given us a 1-Star rating, we might have not lived up to our promise to provide the most exciting, informative and adventurous experience you've ever had, or its free! Then I noticed that your ride was over 4-years ago, so we must have made quite an impression on you and your other lady-friends.I want to thank you so much for what is probably the best review we've ever had, as it is an honest appraisal of what we do here. We teach humans how to interact with horses and let the horse develop trust in the rider. It's a pretty simple formula and, by all the other 5-Star Trip Advisor ratings you'll find on our page, our formula works. The standard nose to tail ride offered by our industry is not what a person can expect when they come to Zion Canyon Trail Rides at Jacobs Ranch; quite the opposite. We know that not everyone is cut out to ride cowboy style and we try, as best we can, to let every rider know, well in advance, that is the case. By your own account, we spend over half the day in what we call our Cowboy Camp before a rider ever puts foot to stirrup. We're dedicated to the safety of all concerned; whether human or animal. We do, and always have, provided helmets for those who request them; however, it is a rare event.People go to an amusement park and ride some pretty scary rides for the thrill of doing something out of the ordinary. At Zion Canyon Trail Rides at Jacobs Ranch, we provide the same; with one exception: a person can stop their ride here at any time and choose to not participate in the gallop, lope or trot riding portions. We'd love to have you back for another go when you're in the area. Even if it's just to say hello. You're always welcome here.

This was a highlight of our weeklong trip to southern Utah. We wanted a horse ride but got so much more including the opportunity to learn about all the horses and choose our own to bonding with our horse in the corral before heading out across rivers and up ridges. I was a bit scared of running the horse too fast but my husband chose to be really adventurous and Josh did a great job of coaching him. We came home with a few bruises and scratches but we love that because it meant we got to take some chances and had a real adventure as opposed to a simple 'tour'.

Loved it! This is THE place to ride in Zion and can easily be a destination place for a quick weekend get-away. We rode a day ride and then did a moonlight ride 2 days later. In 40+ years of riding, I've yet to come across a place like this that wasn't a full-on dude/guest ranch with full-on guest ranch prices and required overnight stays! Zion has amazing hikes, but to explore on horseback was an amazing adventure! The wranglers were great and I observed them work with complete novice first-time riders with limited English to riders like me with 40 years of experience. We all learned from each other and they were equally patient, supportive and encouraging of every rider. My 10 y/o was handled with great care and learned so much from his experience. He can't wait to go back - he rode Blue Eyes and hit a dead run, of which he is so very proud! He struggled a bit more on the moonlight ride and the wranglers were wonderfully patient with him (and so was Blue Eyes!). I rode Dollar and he was exactly as they said: a gentleman but not without lots of power and drive. He wanted so much to compete for front lines and I asked him to stay back so I could video my son on Blue Eyes and as much as he didn't want to stay back (he wanted to run with the herd, too!), he was a perfect gentleman and let me do my human thing! Loved Dollar. Next time I want to ride Allegro since I love Andalusians!Bottom line: These horses are happy. They are well-cared for and clearly loved. How many horse-riding places actually put fly masks on all of their horses!?! The humans are down-to-earth good people. This place is worth your time. Go and meet these special humans and their great horses. Spend the day bonding with and riding the horse you like most! You will never forget this experience. We will be back! Thanks Jackson, Sheryl and Jared!

If you want to have the best experience ever with horses just go for a ride in Jacob's Ranch. Everything is there to make you have the best day ever! The wranglers make you feel comfortable and they teach you so much about horses. It is amazing to see how they know and love their horses. So when you first come in the morning, you know that it is the "horse day" of the year. You get to choose your horse, you do join up with them and then you go for one of the best ride in the desert. It's just like in movies! We were lucky to have a friendly group so the atmosphere was really good! Also you mustn't forget to bring litters of water and a hat! It is good to know that even if you have never been on a horse before, you can still do this ride. The wranglers will be so helpful!I have been practicing horse riding for 13 years now and I can guarantee you that this experience was one of the best I have ever had. Horses are not seen as machines, they are well looked after and they will never hurt you! Thank you so much Jacob's Ranch for this ride! We will never forget it!

We had a really patient and friendly wrangler and combined with really well mannered horses made this just great! We had two very inexperienced riders and one very experienced rider and this was perfect for everyone. It's not your typical nose to tail horse ride where you follow your leader at a walk and just see the sights. The trails went up and down, curved and straight, and throughout the whole thing you can gallop or really do whatever your comfortable with! They teach you how to ride some so you never will have to worry about being uncomfortable in the saddle! They had a wide variety of horses you can choose from and any horse you pick will be amazing. The horses are so well behaved and sweet you will be best friends by the end of the trip. Whether you are inexperienced and want a nice calm horse or you are experienced and you want and fun fast and challenging ride they have a horse for you! Overall the scenery combined with the horses and the wrangler make this an unforgettable time and excellent choice!

This was an amazing experience! You get to do all the things you ever wished you could do riding a horse, which looks easy on TV, but is not so easy in real life. Get ready to REALLY ride a horse. And, if you've had a few kids, make sure you take precautions (moms, you know what I am talking about)! Super fun, super rewarding, super tiring!!! The staff is excellent. Very friendly and very knowledgable. I am also writing this before I wake up in the morning when I may find myself unable to walk! But don't worry, my husband and one of my kids are still able to move :) If you're an out of shape, middle aged mom, you'll get the wake up call that you have got to get to the gym, so there's that benefit, as well.

Go to the website what you read about the entire experience is just the beginning of your thrill ride. Josh and Cheryl are awesome wranglers. We spent about 9 hours from beginning to end. Great horses, you bond with them, learn the horsenality, learn commands and boy do you learn to ride. Walk, trot, lope, gallop and full run if you want! Explore Zion Canyon, up and down, get your adrenaline pumping. This is not a pony ride, this is an adventure, not for the weak!! Amazing. Worth every penny!
