Everything about this experience was AMAZING! Went with 3 friends and everyone loved this. The ride was beautiful and fun, dinner was DELICIOUS, and the customer service from time of booking on was spot on. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone looking for a memorable and unique experience!

Me and my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son took the horse drawn sleigh ride during the day. The kids really enjoyed it. It was a short ride but beautiful. Staff were great. We stopped half way and drank hot cocoa and roasted marshmellows. Bring your own graham crackers and chocolate if you want smores. I was told they have horse bac riding and pony rides. I def want to go back.

Took family in 1:30pm Cocoa Sleigh Ride on February 15th. The days before had been 50+ degree days but we hit it on a day when it snowed to make it more special. Our driver Ms. Fidel was great and very personable. Great place, next time I want to take the family on a trail ride. That looked like a lot of fun.

Our time with Sombrero Ranch was remarkable. The staff was kind and informative, and we were treated like royalty. The animals were taken well care of, and well loved. We highly recommend this experience to anyone and everyone

Wonderful family experience. Horse-drawn sleigh ride with dinner. Since some of our kids had never seen snow before, this was a particular treat! The staff was friendly and informative, the ride was wonderful, beautiful scenery, and dinner was very tasty. Worth the effort to get there, despite the state of Colorado's best efforts to get you lost with their strange numbering of the highways. Don't forget us Sarah!!

3 of us did the trail ride today, and 2 did the sleigh ride. We all very much enjoyed the experience. It was the first time I ever rode a horse in the snow. Our guide, Lara, told us what to expect, and it was very enjoyable. Those horses work hard stepping through the snow. It was a blue sky, picture perfect day, and it was absolutely beautiful. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. My guests (from Mexico City, who own horses) absolutely loved it! Thank you Somrero Stables.

This was my first time on a horse and it was in December in the Rockies. What a blast. Me and a friend took the 1-hour tour on a Sunday morning. We got there about 45 minutes early and and spent a few minutes looking at all the beautiful horses. Anyway, we were set up with two horses, Marge and Ellie. My friend was an experienced rider and she got Ellie. I got Marge. There were two young ladies who escorted us. One had been there forever and was extremely knowledgeable. The other girl had just started and was learning the ropes. But it was nice having two guides with us. Things started out well for about 15 yards and then my horse Marge, decided she wasn't interested in going anywhere, and proceeded to kneel down and then laid down. It didn't really scare me, just didn't know what to make out of it, so i got out of the stirrups and away from Marge pretty quickly before she rolled on me. That was the only hitch in the entire experience but was a good learning experience for me. As the old saying goes, "if you get thrown off the horse you get back on the horse". lol. I didn't get thrown though, she gently knelt and then laid on her side. Both guides moved quickly to make sure i was ok and out of harms way. I would have got back on Marge, but they decided it best that i use another horse so they saddled me up on another horse named Murph who was fabulous. Me and Murph got along like old friends. We spent an hour riding through some of the most beautiful country in the USA and the ride was nice. We meandered through snow covered meadows with beautiful scenery all around. After about 5 minute i felt like an experienced rider (of course i'm not) but Murph made me feel like one. As an aside, there was a film crew at the stables filming a Hollywood movie called "The Cure". Met the producer. Kind of neat. My understanding is that Snow Mountain Ranch has one of the largest stables and selection of horses in North America and this particular valley has to be one of the highest in the USA. I had a great time and plan on going back. Don't let my story about Marge going on strike spook you. This is very rare from my understanding and a great learning experience for me. I have great faith in the staff and had a great time.

We rode the sleigh ride/dinner and it was amazing! The manager Sarah was our guide and even though these south Louisiana peeps froze their butts off, it was sooo worth it! When we were almost back to the lodge she radioed back to the cook to have our meal ready when we got there. My husband had the fish that was fresh and great flavored. I had the chicken and it also was delicious. The sides and homemade dessert were also delicious! Can't wait to do this again on our next trip to CO!!

Sara Hubbell-Engler Manages the Sombrero Stable at Snow Mountain Ranch and when contacted about a sleigh ride for my son to propose to his girl friend was so accommodating and delighted to help. A horse named Tom provided the horsepower and in a beautiful red sleigh pulled our son and girlfriend through the snow covered woods to a stopping point for a warm fire and hot chocolate. The location is surrounded by beautiful Spruce and Lodge Pole Pine forest and several historical log structures and cabins are in view. The setting has many places for that perfect "Christmas Card" shot and Sara's personality and genuine love of what she does makes this the perfect special time to be remembered forever.

We visited Sombrero Stables at Snow Mountain Ranch mid-July 2014. We had such a great time on our 2 hour trail ride! We had a big group on the ride with a varied level of experience and the ride went so smoothly! Our guides were two young women who were knowledgeable about the area and took time to talk to the riders to customize the ride. Our family had SO much fun! I would definitely recommend this anyone in the Granby area. Make sure to call at least a day or two before you want ride in the summer, they have steady business. Well run, great horses and guides! We will be back!

This was a beautiful ride led by a guide that was fabulous! The horses were well behaved and confident in the terrain. We really enjoyed it!!

We had the best time on horseback ever!! Turned out that our ride consisted of just our group of 3 ladies lead by a wonderful personable wrangler guide, Catherine (with a lovely shade of purple hair!) She was very knowledgeable about Colorado, the vegetation, history of the area, mountain ranges, etc. She knew the personalities of our horses and matched us all well. She took the time to offer photo opportunities and other points of interest. We also enjoyed a delicious steak dinner grilled to perfection by trail chef Dusty who sat and chatted with us & Catherine. The evening sunset was wonderful. Even the staff checking us in at the beginning of our ride and those helping us at the end were extremely courteous and personable which overall made for a great experience. We'd do this all over again... And hope to get more trotting in next time! ; )

Two of us took a 4 hour horseback ride to the top of Snow Mountain. Parts of the trip were a bit rugged but exciting, and the views from the top were awesome. I highly recommend you doing the ride if you want something a bit different and adventuresome. Our guide was Bryan (suggest you request him!), who not only ensured we made it up and back safely, but shared lot's of information on the local lore (including a view of a small gold mine).
