The Glen at Watkins is absolutely stunning! We hike it yearly and more often if at all possible. The glen has many stairs, wet/slippery areas, low overhangs and high areas. Each high area is pretty well protected and would only be an issue for inattentiveness or risk-seekers. You need a good pair of waterproof shoes or water sandals (such as Keen) for the walk. There are also wooded trails. Refreshment stations and gift shops are available at both entrances and a shuttle is available during peak business hours to drive you to the top or bottom entrances. The surrounding area is absolutely charming! We camp in the State Park every year, eat at the local restaurant's (Check out The Crooked Rooster/Wild Flower Cafe for local brews and amazing bread pudding!), shop at the Naturals Foods store and swim the lake. There is no better place to vacation!

The Gorge was a wonderful experience. The only thing I wish that I wish I'd done was to start at the top and walk down the 800 steps, instead of starting at the bottom and walking up the 800 steps! We camped at the State Park, swam in the pool, hung out in Watkins Glen and then moved on to touring the Finger Lakes. This is a goodly hike up different levels. Most levels offer an alternative to the upward hike. Be at peace with nature and enjoy the spectacular sights.

This was an unexpected treasure. I did expect to see so many waterfalls. Children played in the lower falls while we walked up the gorge. Nice places to picnic before or after the walk.

I love waterfalls, this park is FULL of waterfalls, therefore I LOVED this park! Great beautiful, easy walk through cascade after cascade. The sounds, the sights, everything about this place was worth the visit. I say skip Niagara and spend more time in Watkins Glen... I wish I had.

This is truly an amazing place!Car parking is the only admission for the attraction.for families it's great!Bathroom is right at the start so keep that in mind.We spend time walking at the Watkin Glen state park trails, combined different routes back from the top. Seeing it from above is also amazing and special!Nothing is compared to these amazing curved pools along the way.Walking beneath waterfall is enjoyable for kids!Worth the visit if you happen to drive in up state NY.

It is very long, but beautiful trail with a lot of stairs. You can take as long as you need to get to the top. The great thing is, if you want you can get a ride back to the bottom,or to the top and walk down. Either way it is well worth the small fee they charge.Unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessibly

The Gorge at WGSP is one of the things you must do if you visit the Watkins Glen area. Make sure you have tennis shoes or hiking shoes - no flip flops! The waterfalls are amazing - just beautiful. You can walk one way (up or down) and take the shuttle the other way - or walk up and back (highly recommend walking both ways as the perspective you get is different each way). Best to go in spring/early summer for the best water in the gorge. Take a camera - you'll need it!

If you like to hike and love waterfalls this is for you. If you are able to visit on a weekday you won't have to contend with the crowds. There is a shuttle bus to give you a ride back to the parking lot if you chose.

The Gorge is a wonder, careful on the slick rocks and be prepared because while not a bad hike it is longer than you think as you enjoy the scenery.

Very beautiful nice place for a visit. beautiful waterfalls, gorgeWould recommend taking shuttle to top and hiking down. You can hike up and take same shuttle down if you are so inclined.

In early November the leaves have mostly fallen and create beautiful patterns and colours in the gorge. I had this visit on my bucket list for some time and notwithstanding the cold (it had snowed nearby the night before), this place is magical. Cascades of waterfalls, brilliantly created walkways, steps and bridges to take advantage of the views, shafts of sunlight highlighting the water and the foliage. A photographer's paradise. Would love to return at any time of year but from the UK, it is not just a day trip! Well worth the detour we made though

I came here with a group of friends that included a number of teenage boys. The number of steps may challenge some but it is an amazing walk up the gorge. So much beauty to take in as you wander through. Even the teenage boys were interested and explored every side path they could. So many wonderful picturesque spots to take back memories of. There is a parking fee but access is free.
