not many of the bigger animals left, no elephant, only 2 tigers and a lion... it's kind of boring for the older kids. The rides are more for younger kids. Over all pretty boring, save the money!

One of the biggest zoos around with plenty of animals. They also have a ride side. So you can spend the whole day there.

Children love this zoo. It is a wonderful place to see animals and enjoy the rides. The pedal boats are also fun as well as feeding the deer and the ducks.

The first time I visited York's Wild Kingdom was over 60 years ago with my cousins. It is still a wonderful vacation spot for families. When my Grandchildren come for their summer stay we always go for most of a day. We go to the Butterfly Pavilion, which they love. Walk through all the animals, feeding those they can and looking for those they remembered from last year. They love the "huge" snake and my favorite is our famous white tiger! We usually have a picnic but often buy lunch and eat at a picnic table. The rides come last and some are dated but I think they are really meant for younger children. It is always a positive experience with talk of 'next year'.

We went walking through and took countless pictures. We felt like we were in our own little world there. The people of York are so friendly and welcoming and it made our visit so much fun. I will post pics of this visit for sure. You can tell the animals are so well taken care of. Just such a lovely place.

We can't go a summer without going to York's Wild Kingdom. We love seeing the animals, some of which you can feed, and the kids enjoy the rides and funhouse even though they are dated. It's a great place.

My grandkids (ages 4, 5 and 6) really loved this place. Fun games and rides for their age group. Zoo is fun for them also. Nice break from the beach.

I would say this park is good for the younger kids (4-8ish), not for the almost teens or teens ... they would be bored I think. It's right across from the beach so doing some beach, some park might be good.

The butterfly area is best I have been to and there is a good variety of butterflies. Any one that enjoys butterflies, rgardless of age, I believe would enjoy this. There is good assortment of rides for younger children and few more for adults/teens but do not expect something huge like six flags.

I read an article in the AAA Southern New England Newspaper about York, Maine which mentioned this zoo. We had passed York many times, but never got to the zoo. It is an old-time zoo not a fancy one, but it is still nice. When we went in September, the price was reduced to about half price because they were closing soon for the season. There are monkeys, macaws, tigers, birds, deer, goats, black swans, white swans, alligators and many other animals. We started in the butterfly house which had many colorful species. We really enjoyed the monkeys...some carrying their babies. There are small machines with pellets to feed the ducks (25 cents). Lots of ducks and birds hung around these machines knowing they were going to be fed. The kids loved it. The ducks would eat out of their hands. There were pony rides and camel rides ($5). Good photo opportunities. There is a small gift shop there too and a small amusement park with kiddie rides, a carousel, Ferris wheel & mini-golf. There is food for sale. There is plenty of free parking. This is a nice place to spend a couple of hours.

Went there with 6 friends in May 2014. Had discount tickets.($11 for zoo and amusement park)Enjoyed feeding the ducks and deer. Very scenic and clean. Only zoo in Maine.

Had a great time visiting the zoo for the first time in about 10 years many things are the same but the kids still love it very much.

York's is a tough one to review because our family has a great time there, a truly fun experience for all of us (kids 7, 9 and 14). That being said, our tickets were free. I don't know how I would have felt paying full price to go. It got the 4 starts because it is obviously rare to keep 2 adults, a teenager and 2 young kids (one of which is Autistic) entertained for a day - and we'll go back - but only if we can find discount tickets.Pros - the animals are friendly, lively and seem well cared for. The park is clean. Parking is close and easy. Food was reasonable. Hand-feeding the deer and ducks was a joy.Cons - the amusement park side was really nothing more than what you'd see at your travelling carnival. Even the employees on that side seemed to not be local(?) or friendly.

As a kid I went to this park a lot and I remember having fun and enjoying the animals. I went back as an adult with my own daughter when she was 3 and I was horrified. The place was filthy and the animals looked so uncared for and unhealthy. If I had been on Trip Advisor back then I would have rated it less than 1/2 a star if possible. I vowed I'd never go back.Fast forward 5 years and we went back. I was impressed with the changes the owners had made re. the animals' enclosures. While I'm still not a fan of zoos, the animals looked healthy, their areas were clean & there were a lot of caretakers around. The grounds looked neat and the bathrooms were pretty clean (although the lines were crazy long for the women's since there were only 2 stalls). The rides were aimed mostly at toddlers and pre-teens. I think teenagers would be bored silly at this park. All the rides my daughter went on were in good shape and looked freshly painted. She loved the haunted house, fun houses and kiddie roller coaster (the last time we were there I was petrified to let her go on anything b/c the rides looked like they were ready to come unbolted). It's a fun day or night in York and walking distance from Short Sands Beach & downtown.

quite a small zoo and park but does not lack in interest.the facility is very clean and has very nice animal enclosures.the amusement park is old, outdated, but well maintained.this would probably turn off a teenager but my 7 year old granddaughter loved the rides.I most enjoyed the nostalgia that the amusement park has.when you are done with the park you walk to the beach and shops.great day spent
