If you are passing through the area you have to drop in and share a little bit of nostalgia. It's neat to tell the story to your friends, and don't forget to have some chicken while you are there. It really does taste better than your local KFC.

If you are in the area or not (only a short trip off the I-75) this little piece of nostalgia is worth seeing. Lots of bits of trivia. The original restaurant area is there and it's really cool to tell friends that you have eaten there.

Modern Kentucky Fried Chicken with small museum inside. Not a whole lot to see. Not worth a long drive.

My over the road experience with KFC has been the quality of the food was noticeable. However the cafe and museum still has the best tasting chicken of any place in Corbin. The buildings and decor were some what shabby. What museum isn't? Maybe the white house? Have you been there? Drive around the town and you will find streets that go nowhere. You think you are going across town only to find the road twist and angles and brings you out 15 miles away from where you started, in an opposite direction. Enjoy the "Chicken"! Make a donation and maybe the cafe and museum will be there for another visit!

Always wanted to check out the KFC museum. Drove the 2 1/2 mile drive off the interstate. The museum is old, dated and not much there..... Displays were faded and broken. Building in very poor condition with falling in ceilings and cracked floors, The onsite restaurant is just a modern day KFC, nothing special. The photo op at the front door was the best part of the stop. This could be such a great piece of history but it is falling to time and not being maintained.. Bummer....

On one hand this is a typical Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, on the other hand it's in Col. Sanders first restaurant. You can see the old kitchen, a typical room at his inn. It's a bit worn but it's a conversation starter at your next party. I wouldn't come to Corbin to see it, but if you are passing through its a good place to stop for food.

The flavor of the original recipe is the only good thing that saved this place from getting a one. In every corner and angle of this place, there was layers of filth and dirt. Even the model motel room had grunge on carpet and beneath the viewing rail. This restaurant SHOULD BE THE FLAGSHIP and LEGACY of a great man, but due to LAZY management it is a disgrace to the entire food chain of KFC. Corporate needs to fire current management and get someone who will run this place with the honor and respect that it deserves.

The food was KFC (don't get me wrong, I like KFC food). The atmosphere still had the fast-food feel with old-timey architecture and design. The museum was limited but informative. It is a good "once and done" type of place.

Saw the signs on the highway and decided to stop. Interesting history about KFC. Nice displays. The place needs some touch ups. The statue of the Colonel has a broken finger.

Going back & forth over the years from Indiana to Georgia & Florida we would often stop at this KFC because of the history behind it. The food is very good but the housekeeping is not up to par. Definitely needs a lot of TLC! It's like so many similar places with history of this type, as you walk through you almost expect Col. Sanders to walk out of the woodwork to greet you. The personnel have done a good job of creating exactly this type of feeling. I did feel with a little more signage they could make this particular KFC a lot more appealing. Not just another KFC! It's only a little out of your way though, so do yourself a favor & stop by. You'll like it!

Easy to find, entertaining information in the museum. Typical KFC fare and experience in the restaurant.

I live in Michigan and have family in Harlan County Ky. I remember as a kid driving through Corbin on our way and stopping to get KFC. It was a real treat. Anyway I decided to take my 9 year son to the legendary first KFC. Signs are easy to follow and it is right off the main highway. The food I would have to admit is probably the best KFC I have tasted. Reminded me of the way it use to be. The establishment however, I am afraid, seems to be poorly managed. Or at least it was not being managed well the day I was there. As you can see in my photos there were over 20 people in line, at least 5 workers I could see, and yet only ONE VERY VERY SLOW person was taking orders, using only one of the 3 checkouts. This was not just a little backup, we waited in line for over 15 minutes of this, finally we left, went out and drove through the drive through and had our food in 2 minutes. The line had only moved to the next person by the time we were leaving with our food. Anyway, other than that the food was good, they place is neat and I am glad it is there.

Had visited this place several years ago when we were full time RVers. Wanted to see it again. Well worth it. As much a museum as an eating place. Visited here twice during our two days in the area and took home dinner both times. Good chicken and sides that come with it.

Won't take long to see this but well worth it! This was the First KFC. It has been nicely preserved and creatively done to show how it was set up and run way back in the beginning! And you can even have some good food as well!
