Had to get a quick sandwich at the deli . It was delicious. The store was very interesting with great products and really nice local people.

Detweiler's was really charming. There were lots of Amish folks shopping, as well as working the register. They have home goods and some Amish clothing, as well as a small grocery store, which includes ice cream! We bought 4 ice cream cones (two were double scoops) of their hand churned ice cream and a bag of english toffee for $10.50 It's about an hour from Ft Knox. This store is located in Hart County which has the highest population of Amish in KY, so it was enjoyable to see all the Amish farms/barns and buggies out and about.

Detweiler's is a great country store! They have many items for sale and are all priced very reasonably. Love the handmade outdoor furniture, looks/works great for any lake houses on Nolin. Tips:The trading post building does not take credit cardsClosed SundayThe coconut chocolate pies are deliciousMany things are sold in bulk for a low price

Detweiler's seems to have everything a Walmart would have all reduced to the size of a small country store. We have a farm nearby and every time I've needed something, I stop by and they have it. Definitely worth checking out if you are on your way to nearby Nolin Lake.

Took the ride over from Munfordville to Cub Run 10 or 12 miles road signs give conflicting info. The views are great the water so blue. Just don't miss the turn. Turn right where the Post Office is on your left and Cub Run Engine Sales & Repair is on the right. The shops were like a old general store and the food in one and the dry goods in another and then the outside stuff in a third. The employees treated you like you were old friends and made you feel right at home. Dan & Ruth made us feel like long lost cousins for sure. Get off the Interstate and return to yesteryear and a time when this country had a slower pace and work ethic.

We were early for our scheduled tour at Cub Run Cave and it was near lunch time so Linda recommended the fantastic deli at this Amish country store. They carry many different meats and cheeses so you can order tons of different combinations at incredibly low prices. The sandwiches were absolutely huge and on home-made bread. Great taste and quality. We had two overstuffed sandwiches, chips, soda and two generous pieces of home-made fudge for under $10. By the way, if they have any Blueberry fudge available - go for it - simply amazing! We ate on a small patio and watched their birds and goats. All in all, it was a surprise stop that I highly recommend if you're looking for a great lunch.Don't forget to browse at all the home-made candies, regional honeys, preserves and other nice food items in the store.

This store is owned by Mr. Dan Detweiler, a very nice Amish gentleman. There is a small grocery store & deli with all kinds of good meats & cheeses. They also have toys, gifts, cookware, a large selection of fabrics & notions, handmade furniture, rocking chairs along with trapping & fishing supplies. I recommend you take time to stop & visit.A word of caution, there are a number of Amish communities around the Cub Run area, they travel on the highways with horse & buggy. There are hills & blind curves.... Be alert & ready to slow down & brake. This is their home be respectful of their customs & traditions. You will be better for it.Again, I recommend you take time to stop here."Cracker"

One of my favorite places to visit and buy bulk food items, bakery treats, hardware and more. This store is owned and operated by a local Amish family. They sell sliced cheeses and meats too. i shop here every 2 weeks or so because I'm local but if you're traveling by this area, you won't want to miss it!

We went to an Amish General Store called Detweiler's General Store. Not a big place, but really neat. It is owned and ran by an Amish Family. It is really a cute place. And the Bread and Butter Pickles are Incredible.
