    由St.Mary进入后走著名的Going-to-the-sun Road向阳大道,一路向西,直奔最远点Logan Pass:Mt.Clements

Logan Pass is at the top of the Going-to-the-Sun Road at about 6,650 feet elevation. There is a great Visitor Center here with Rangers to explain the area and hikes to take.

We took a day trip to Logan Pass. Along the way you will see plenty of falls my favorite was the Chutes Burning Falls that goes all the way down the mountain under the road. it was nice to get out and walk around.

Get there early! Absolutely get there before sunrise. When we were there in July 2014 a large group of big horn sheep gathered in the parking lot and on the north side of the roadway each morning. IF you are a photographer, the light is great. Good views to the east.Snow was still plentiful the second week of July. The wild flowers were just starting to appear on the slopes behind the Visitor Center and were gorgeous. The path behind the Center leads up to a vista worth the trek. If there is still snow, it is not an easy climb, but absolutely worth it.We saw more sheep and several marmots including two males that had a tussle.Make it more than a one day visit and you will not be disappointed.

I trailered my bike here with the family in tow. Left them to explore the adventure park in Whitefish, and I headed for the park. Spectacular scenery along the entire road. When riding, prepare for a substantial temperature change. It was sunny and 78 degrees in Apgar, by the time I reaced Logan Pass, it was 35 degrees, cloudy and windy. You will need gloves and a face cover (I used my do-rag). The pass parkilng lot is typically packed with cars, but bike parking is usually always available. Fantastic ride, but bring hiking boots, motorcycle boots do not do well on the trails. I will definately do this again.

We visited before sunrise because we were told the earlier you go the higher the chance of spotting wildlife would be. And they were right. So very right. The visitor center didn't open till 9am but we arrived before 7. There were a few hikers and several animals including a very curious bighorn sheep.

We stopped on our trip to West Glacier. I would caution anyone trying to enjoy a quiet hike. The entire Going to the Sun Highway was crowded and this hike was the most crowded of all hikes we took in Glacier Park.

Got here early to get a parking place. Enjoyed the awesome views and made our way up the walk toward Hidden Lake. Lots of stairs climbing up. We did not get to the lake but still thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and vistas

The Going to the Sun road leads drivers up to Logan Pass, the highest elevation (6640ft.) reachable by car in the park. DON'T MISS THIS. It is spectacular!!!!

Must see. Even if you do not drive the entire Going to the Sun Road be sure to drive as far as Logan Pass. Located on Continental Divide. Lots of walking and hiking trails. Very small parking lot so best to take shuttle or ride Big Red Bus.

Logan Pass is half way to the top of th e Road to the sun, we took two days 0 a day to do each side of the road to the sun, both sides are very different in scenic views, and both have places to stop, take photos, buy souvenirs, etc

That was an exhausting trail, but it's worth it !! You'll see a beautiful scenery, complete with wild animal such as mountain goats and ground squirrels. Take this trail and you won't be disappointed.. :)

Choose a nice sunny day and travel the Going to the Sun Road from East to West and back. Allow plenty of time for photo stops and for the gravel road, which is well surfaced, bu hazardous for two wheelers

While traveling across country we stayed in Whitefish MT. and went to Glacier National Park about 1/2 hour away. Traveling through the park on the "Going to the Sun" road was beautiful and at the top you will find Logan Pass. This location is the spot where you will see hikers getting ready in a paved parking lot at one of the visitors centers in Glacier NP. There is a nice center there with bathroom facilities, gift shop and information center with rangers. Here you can see the information about the animals in the park. Be sure to buy a National Park Passport book and get it stamped and/or buy a special stamp made for the book. (take this book to each National Park or Monument site and get it stamped free under $10). There are two book types you can get here IE: regular and kids version. Lots of fun and educational. There are different trails for different skilled hikers. One behind the center with beautiful long views with mountains and a nice flat walkway some of the way. Across from the center and across the road are hills you may spot a Big Horn Sheep running down the steep hill (we saw this) keep your eyes open for this site. There is also a path that will be easy till you get to the walkway going along the rock mountain edge. At that point the narrow walkway has beautiful views but keep an eye where you walk as it is on the edge. There is a cable to hold onto around this part. Before you get to this area is a meadow where you may see beautiful Mountain Goats. We saw at least 10 either walking and eating or laying under rock ledges in the shade. Young kids were playing. A nanny was trying to get her kids to climb up to the road and cross and a "Jammer" (red bus tour called Jammers as years ago the young drivers would jam the gears) driver got so excited we could hear him from the meadow. Didn't bother the goats at all. As we walked a trail there was a nanny and kid on the trail. She was walking down the trail eating. We were close...to close but lucky for us she just looked at us and moved on. Remember to keep your distance as these are wild animals. (when we visited the Olympic Peninsula/Hurricane Ridge in Washington State warning signs where a Mt. Goat had killed a hiker that got to close) We just respected her territory and kid and we were fine. Logan Pass is where a lot of the goats live. Some of these goats have tracking collars on them. These white collars will eventually fall off as they don't want to capture the goats again and stress them. It is so worth the trip to the top! Beautiful sights and Animals such as the Mountain Goats, Big Horn Sheep and ground squirrels plus great hiking! Take a good camera, close up lens and a tripod and have a great goat time!
