Decided to take the tour and we were not disappointed. From the initial video they showed to touring the fields and production shed, we found the staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. When our friends asked about an ornamental banana plant they saw, the staff gave them three plants to take back to their Placentia home! I would have to say this was time well spent. Takes two hours to tour. Enjoy your time there!

Learned bunches about bananas and how they grow from very knowledgeable guide.I highly recommend this tour for all ages.Use bug spray before you go as the Botlass flies are ferocious and their bites will itch for days.

First, I really didn't think I would enjoy a "Banana Farm Tour" that much. I was very wrong, it was wonderful! I will never look at a banana the same way again because of all the great information I learned that morning. The staff is fantastic, the tour informative and a really nice surprise at the end. We live in Placencia (part time) and absolutely will be bringing all our guests on this wonderful tour. A friend graciously gave us some banana plants and said "do the tour and then I'll give you some plants". Well, we did just that.....the tour first and my husband planted the banana trees that very afternoon. GO ON THIS TOUR..........I promise you'll enjoy it AND learn a lot.....

Went with friends and not sure what to expect. Turned out to be an absolutely fabulous day! Learned tons and couldn't believe how labor intensive it is to grow bananas. Will never complain about the price again!

We are ag and food geeks, we found this very interesting. Its $15 US each if you drive yourself there, but I saw tours which take you there for as much as $60! They really do a nice job on the tour.

We had a great (and very informative) time at Bunches of Fun Banana Farm Tours! We were able to watch the step by step processing of bananas. Our guide was friendly and knowledgable. We even got to put stickers on bunches of bananas (that kind of working vacation is a'okay with me!!)I have certainly taken for granted how much attention to detail goes into growing, harvesting and transporting bananas. I`ll never pitch another banana again.

We saw the whole production running from a new plant all the way to a banana getting taken out on a truck. We saw the whole thing and really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was great and we got to eat bunches of bananas and even fried bananas that were amazing! We definitely recommend this tour!

We learnt so much on this tour! Evin made this tour so fun and both the grownups and kids couldn't believe how much it takes to bring a banana from the field to our homes.

From planting to harvest and shipping. I'll never look at a banana the same way again. Tour leader enthusiastic in all areas of their farm. Special treat after the tour.

We decided to do this tour when our other ones were cancelled due to rain! SO GLAD WE DID!! Our guide Evin was excellent and so informative! I have a whole new appreciation for bananas! Learned a lot and had a lot of fun! make sure to call and make a reservation!

Okay... a tour of a banana farm..?? YECK YEAH!! This is a lot harder than we "banana consumers" think. Lets start with Reservations...and they only give tours on days that they harvest. So that means Mon, Thu, Fri or Sat as there is much activity around the farm on those days. Sagitun Farm is located on the most northern part of the Placencia Peninsula as the road curves back toward the Southern Highway. You will be greeted at the gate and led by car 2-3 miles back into the banana plantation (it might be wise to have a SUV). The tour starts out with a short video of what you will see later as you are given a tour though the actual farm. You will see how the banana plants are cared for and then right onto the packaging and shipping. I'm making it sound much easier than it actually is. Running a banana farm is a complicated but fascinating process! This is an experience that you will not soon forget...especially the next time you reach for a bunch of bananas at your grocery store.

The Bunches of Fun tour was definitely one of the best things about our visit to Placencia, I'd say second only to snorkeling. Seriously! It was way more fascinating than I expected, to learn about all that goes into getting bananas onto the grocery shelves. And it sort of changes the way you think about food, to actually look into the faces of the people who make it possible. Evin was absolutely charming, and the tour itself was incredibly well-organized and well-paced. Great for anyone, adults or kids. We did the 10am tour and were back in Placencia Village at about 12:30, so the whole excursion makes a nice half-day activity. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to take the Bunches of Fun banana farm tour while we were visiting Belize. Going into the tour I can honestly say we knew absolutely nothing about bananas....besides of course buying them in the grocery store! Our tour guide, Evin, and her knowledge as well as her true passion for what she does is what makes this tour so appealing. From start to end, Evin's passion intrigues you into wanting to know more and most importantly the ability to stay entertained while listening to her explain the entire process. This tour will teach you the way bananas grow, how long the process takes and even how they are packaged and shipped to buyers like you and me. This tour is definitely for people of all ages and is a must see when visiting Placencia. It is safe to say that we would most definitely recommend this tour to anyone as it is definitely a top tier tour done right!

The tour of the banana farm far exceeded all expectations and Evin went out of her way to make this surprise for my dad's 74th birthday a memorable one. The tour was just the right combination of interaction, education and demonstration and we all (from 14 years to 74) found it extremely interesting and fun. Every time we eat a banana from now on we will appreciate all the care and work that has gone in to it. The banana chips were amazing! A great way to spend an afternoon!

A friend and I recently traveled to Belieze and spent nine days exploring the gorgeous country. Between the many adventures we went on, going on the Bunches of Fun banana farm tour was by far my favorite thing we did! Not only did we learn about the growth, packing, and shipping processes of banana farming, but we were able to see first hand how everything was done. Our tour guide, Evin, was awesome as well! She was very informative as she explained the dynamics of banana farming and was patient with the group when we asked questions. She had such a great sense of humor too! Evin had us laughing the entire time. Throughout the tour, we were able to eat bananas that were grown on the farm (which were delicious), and we were also able to try plantains (which were amazing). At the end of the tour, Evin gave each of us a fyffes banana keychain and pen, which I still use today! All in all, this tour was absolutely amazing! I recommend it to anyone traveling to Belize.
