Very nice and trendy beach bar and hang-out. Surfers paradise, and also very well-prepared lunches. Nice, crispy crab-salad, fresh and a generous portion. Friendly service, beautiful view, great atmosphere! Combine a lunch at Jibe City with a beach visit at Sorobon (USD 5,- pp fee) for a beach day in paradise.

Fun, great scenery, loved watching the windsurfers and the food was pretty good. Fastest free WiFi speed we found on the island.

My husband and I spent three days windsurfing at Lac Bay. Jibe city had all new equipment and well rigged. Plenty of it too. The place was packed and we got there after the rush and there was plenty of nice boards and sails. Staff was very helpful, gave tips and advice. Great shallow aqua blue water, never went over my head once. There is deeper bluer water if you want. Beginners to experts will enjoy. From our beach house at Sorobon, we watched the pros sail from 6 til dark every night! learned how to high speed tack, and really polished my jibes! great place to sail, maybe thee best !!!

Was visiting Bonaire and found our way here last Sunday night after hearing that it was "the place to be." Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the experience. First, it was difficult to find in the dark on the other side of the island and without very good signage (the ones we did see did not have an arrow pointing out which direction, which made things interesting). When we got there, the bar was packed (mostly with locals, which is cool), but only a handful of the dining tables were occupied. We wanted dinner and were told to sit anywhere, but then never saw a server again. We waiting about 20 minutes and left. Looks like a great place to windsurf during the day, or even have a drink (if you do not mind fighting you way up to the bar), but at least on the Sunday night we went, it was impossible to get anyone to come back to our table to order drinks or dinner.

Went here twice - once for lessons and once to rent. On the first visit, the staff (Gjertan ?? I think was his name.. sorry, I probably butchered that name) was friendly and helpful. On our second visit, the girl at the desk was abrupt and rude - which is why I didn't rate this place a 5/5. Our lesson was an hour long and by the end we were windsurfing like pros (haha not really)You get a lesson for an hour and then an hour on your own for $50. Our instructor was fun and nice, although I think I got more tips from Gertjan than from him. Overall a great experience.

Excellent in almost every way. The location is brilliant for most standards of windsurfer (only lacks waves), with warm water and waist deep for a km or more! The owners and managers are absolutely brilliant and the beach staff are pretty good mostly. The kit was also good, it will now be brilliant as they have received their 2015 stuff. We will definitely be returning to this magical windsurfing place. Its a must to visit for any windsurfer.

We hit up Jibe City on the southern end of the island on our last day off gassing in Bonaire. It has a VERY laid back feel, much like Jamaica. This is THE place to go to learn to kite surf. If you don't kite surf, there are still a couple ocean front restaurant/bars to sit and enjoy the people and drinks. There is a "resort" or two there as well. Be prepared to walk barefoot in bathing suits and do nothing but enjoy the water and the people there to do the same. Perfect place to hang out and just chill and enjoy some drinks.

This is the easiest spot to windsurf I've ever seen: a natural shallow bay with warm water, no waves, a sandy bottom, and ripping winds. Renting equipment is easy, and if the wind picks up and you need a smaller sail, the crew will provide. The food is passable at best, but most of the people who work there are helpful and smiling. I hadn't windsurfed in about 10 years, and was doing fine here... the equipment is pretty good for rentals, and there's plenty to choose from.

I don't think I've ever sailed anywhere quite like Lac Bay - it is very special and I felt very privileged to be there. The guys at Jibe City really topped it off. The atmosphere in the centre and the Hang Out bar was so relaxed and friendly yet attentive and professional. The kit was excellent and on only a couple of occasions over the really busy Christmas period did I have to wait for the board I really wanted. Having said that there was still loads of other kit to use.Watching the pro's, especially Caesar was mesmerising and kept my non-windsurfing girlfriend transfixed as well (although I'm not sure it was entirely the skills she had her eye on!!).Awesome place that I loved so much I've already booked to go back in April!!

I booked a beginner group lesson, and our teacher was funny and gave clear instruction. After 15 minutes on land, we grabbed our boards and he stood out in the bay and made sure we got a good start, and gave us pointers to get us going. Then we had another hour to practice. (which is about all I could handle) I had a blast and wanted to go back. The water is clear and clean and is a great place to learn.

This is a great way to spend an afternoon.I've always watched people windsurf and wondered how it would be.This place gives you that opportunity to take a lesson and try it out.The water in the bay is beautiful and just the right depth for a first timer. The wind is constant and not too strong .It will give you a nice burn if you don't take care. The class will last an hour and then they let you try windsurfing on your own for the rest of the day or until you ware yourself out.The instructor was like a drill Sargent but knew his stuff. There was a lot to remember in an hour class. But it gave me great confidence to try it again in the future.Jibe City sets you up with a beginners sail and board. The instructor sets the board on the beach and shows you the correct way to stand and hold on to the sail. The real test comes when you have to walk your board into the water and do it.

When we arrived at Lac Bay from our cruise ship, we did not want to sit at Sorobon since it was packed so we went over to Jibe City where some tall blond guy who's name begins with G charged my husband $5 a chair. When I walked to the bathroom, I discovered that the chairs were free. My husband had even asked him if we bought food there, could we get a break on the chairs and he told us no. I am writing this review to give a heads up that this young man is dishonest and please check around first if you decide to spend the day using their chairs. We did get lunch there which was ok (warm sodas are always lovely - thank you so much...). I was so annoyed at this sneaky person, I would never trust someone like this again and will never return. I hope you enjoyed your $15 because now everyone will know about your dishonesty on this forum. I couldn't believe he actually did this when there was a sign there stating that the chairs were free. Tourism is your #1 economy. Just do not understand this. The water was great. The service and the staff were not. I have news for you. Snotty elitist attitudes are never a huge selling factor in tourism.

It is probably just as well that we didn't discover Jibe City earlier in our holiday or we would have spent most of our time there! We went to Bonaire to snorkel and this is not the place for snorkeling. However it would be fantastic for children as the sea is very shallow and it is possible to walk waist high for about 20 minutes. The colour of the water is out of this world. Jibe City provides free sun beds, good music and reasonable food - what more could anyone ask for? We will be back.

This windsurf school is cool. Lac Bay is soo beautiful. At Sorobon you can rent a beach-bed and eat lunch or dinner. You can windsurf at Jibe city. The sufboards are ready. You just take one. Lessons are possible but because the lake is not very deep it is very easy to practice there.

We had a great time to learn windsurfing here. The lagoon is shallow and is longer than half a mile. The winds are always blowing and towards the shore. So it is safe for everybody. It is pricey if you rent a board by the hour. If I could come back, I would go for a package vaction with board rental included to learn and practice your heart out.
