By the time it was evening, I was completely exhausted and was not ready to party. My friends and I were resting when the daughter of our hostess dragged us to Las Cuevas. To get there, you have to take a bizarre walk around a construction site – we never would have found it without the guidance of a local! This is definitely a cool place – it is in a cave, after all. There are some great dancers who turn out – while we chilled with our mojitos, a couple dominated the floor with some extremely impressive salsa dancing. Just as impressive were the performers who pulled crazy stunts, lifting tables and chairs with their mouths and other unexpected body parts.

Went here with my friend. We ordered a bottle of Havana Club- came with two cups and ice and we were set. the music was loud, the ceiling drips of collective sweat, there are men eating glass and balancing girls on chairs...it was crazy. I would go back in a second.

We were in Trinidad Feb 3-10....we headed into town on the sat night I was looking forward to taking my friend to the cave bar. (I had been there before) We arrived around 11pm and were told no tourists only Cubans. I am not sure why...if there was problems in the disco or is this normal for a sat night. I plan on going back next year and hopefully we can get in!!

I don't care how old you are; attending a night club inside a cave is exceptionally cool! Have some rum and loosen up. Dance with the 20 somethings to pounding dj beats inside the craziest bar you'll ever see.

That was one fun night in La cueva. I think its one of the coolest places to go out in Trinidad. Disco in the cave, good drinks but a lot of locals trying to find a "yuma girfriend" though ;) Even you are not a disco fan you shoul visit this place at least once.

This is fun! This is original! This is one of the coolest nightclubs anywhere on earth! WOW! This is a must visit spot! This is worth the trip to Trinidad!

"La Cueva" as it is known by locals is the place to go with a group of friends to dance and drink late at night..You have to walk an uphill, dark and uneven route towards this place from the Old Center but I think it's worth it if you want to keep the party alive past midnight...Cheap cover to get in ( 3 CUC with a drink included) and you'll be on stage dancing Cuban reggaeton 80% of the time...OK, you might not like it or even understand it but who cares?...Wear light garments 'cause it could be terribly hot inside, especially Fridays and Saturdays when Cubans flood this disco..

But dodgy finding our way up there (4 girls not a clue where we were going!!) but as usual some lovely locals set us on the right track and we had an excellent night once we got there, really cool place with great music and some pretty cool entertainment! Not to be missed if in Trinidad!

Its been a very long time since I had the pleasure of visiting Disco Ayala, but when I came across it on this site, I had to leave a review. Reminiscing about my long ago trip to Cuba, visiting the one of a kind disco-in-a-cave stands out, hands down, as one of the absolutely best experiences. Plenty of tourists and locals too, made this high-energy disco loads of fun. Go! You must experience it.

If you only have one night in Trinidad I suggest you start at Casa de la Musica but make sure you finish the night in Disco Ayala. Opening at 11pm this disco is pretty unique as it is based underground in a cave. You have to climb up a hill to get to it. At the entrance you then decent down a couple of flights of stairs. A good mix of Cubans and tourists mean that most of the dancing is salsa style. There is also a show (totally for tourists) at about mid-night where local dancers walk on glass, lift tables with their teeth, lift audience members etc. Of course they look for tips after!!The music is a mix of Cuban chart and old-skool classics. Be warned though one or two dances and you will be dripping with sweat as there is no aircon in this place and once it fills up with revellers it gets pretty hot and sticky!!Definitely worth it though. Try get there soon after opening to nab a table at the dance-floor.

We went there on a week day and there was anyhow a nice crowed dancing in the cave. It opened at 11 pm and cost 3cuc to get in. It was a good mixture of foreigners and cubans and we had some good fun until 1 am when many left.

A disco well worth checking out :) Visited with a friend on our 2 week tour in Cuba January 2014. Never been so soaken wet when dancing.

A 10-minute uphill walk on stony, uneven ground and a half-hour wait to gain entry (for 3 CUC which includes a free drink) is worth it if you want a less traditional, more Ibiza-esque night out - live DJs playing a mix of UK/US/salsa dance tracks. If you're planning on wearing heels, bring a pair of flats to get there and back.

In a guide book we read about this disco within a cave and since our casa wasn´t too far away we gave it a try.At the driveway of the Hotel La Cueva we asked how to get there and followed the instructions until there was a construction site where we were told to walk around it. It was dark and narrow and we weren´t quite sure if this wasn´t some kind of trap :-DThe entrance to the cave disco cost 3 CUC (Thursday). The prices for the drinks were (compared to German clubs) very low. They played all kinds of music (reggaeton, salsa, house,...) and the dancefloor was full by 11pm.We had a great, memorable evening!

The best night out we had in Cuba - a truly unique experience clubbing in a cave! Cheap entry, cheap drinks, great Cuban 'reggeton' music, and YOU'RE IN A CAVE!!! Don't leave Trinidad or Cuba for that matter without visiting.
