Our family of 4 went on a ride. I rode double with our 5 yo son. The views were definitely fantastic. However, we were very rushed to get saddled up for the ride and safety was not a top priority. There was a male guide leading us and then 12 people following the guide (yes 12 people!). There was no one to follow up at the end of the group to ensure the safety or comfort of those near the end of the pack. When our guide turned around to give advice about parts of the trail or to elaborate on some things on the trail, the last third to half of the group did not hear. The guide was not very personable and did not seem very enthused to be leading our group. Lastly, the ride back after the beach break was very rushed - trotting a good chunk of the time. This is fun for a single rider but can be quite uncomfortable for the double riders and new riders in the group; again the guide did not check with his riders to see how things were going or if all of the trotting was ok. Despite our love of the scenery and horsebackriding, I would not recommend Tropical Trail Rides.

We drove from San Juan (2 hours) because we found that this trail ride took you onto the beach and through the forest. We were not disappointed, The scenery was incredible! The guide, the horses and the facility were all top notch. We loved it and would certainly ride with them again. BTW, the Eclipse restaurant vey nearby is fabulous also.

I did this trail ride a year ago - just saw this posted while looking it up to go again! When we went my boyfriend and I were the only riders with the guide, they didn't cancel and were very gracious. Beautiful ride, professionals, felt safe and had a great ride and woderful scenery. I recommend it highly and will be back soon

Overall I had fun and would recommend it. You have to call and give them your credit card info to reserve your spot and when you get there you have to pay it in either cash or travelers check. We paid $50 per person. If you cancel they charge your credit card the full amount and they DO NOT do cancellations. I recommend you wear covered footwear and bring a small backpack to hold your belongings. If you have a gopro bring the head mount because they will not let you hand carry anything since you will need both hands to control the horse. We went on the 3:30pm ride and even though it was cloudy it was still beautiful.

We liked this adventure so much we did it twice!! The horses were so well behaved and the staff is on point. We did a private ride with Kelsey both times. It was a little more expensive but so worth it. We got to spend time on the beach, take pictures with the horses, climb up to a cliff that over looked Isabella while the horses took a break. Hands down...the best time...both times!! I had a different horse the 2nd time and she was great also. I have to hand it to the owners and staff. They really know what they are doing and love these horses like they are their children. You can tell they are well cared for, well fed and loved. That is extremely important to me as a horse lover and and overall animal lover. I would recommend this group to anyone...and ask for Kelsey as a guide...she was a blast!!

We have done this twice in the last ten years. Both times were just amazing! The staff is very friendly and patient. It is definitely worth the money. Don't forget to tip your guide. They do a great job. Half way during our ride we let the horses rest and the guide takes you hiking on the beach and up some cliffs. Breathtaking view! There is nothing like riding horses on the beach in Puerto Rico. Don't forget to take plenty of water as it gets very hot. Put this on your bucket list!!!

We were so happy when we heard our kids, 2 &5 years old could ride with us! We each rode with one of the kids in our saddle. We had so much fun. Our tour had about 14 people on it which may sound big but really it was personal and comfortable. Albert was super informative and we even learned some things on our tour! Loved the trail, a lot of shade, and you really felt like you were out in the woods miles from anywhere, then suddenly in the most desolate beautiful beach! Great ride! They let you choose your level, beginner to advanced. We galloped a little with the kids and they loved it. All smiles the whole time! We would totally ride again!

We had a lovely ride on the beach with stunning views. Probably not for the serious equestrian but it was super for our quartet which include a beginner. Absolutely good for kids too.

My wife is an avid rider, so when we found out we had a chance to ride pasofinos on the beach we were excited. We made the trip to the charming town of Isabela from San Juan in about an hour and twenty minutes, a nice ride through the mountains and coastal towns of Puerto Rico. It was a busy holiday weekend, but they added the four of us on for an afternoon trail ride with no problem. Tropical Trail Rides is run by a charming and professional couple and their excellent staff. The horses were beautiful and very well cared for. They were able to accommodate riders of all abilities, from a 6 year old to my teenage daughters to my experienced equestrian wife. The scenery was lovely, especially along the beach. There is even a "secret" pirate cave! All this was great. But the nicest thing about our ride was the kindness and hospitality of the owners, who went way out of their way to help us out when we managed to lock our keys in the trunk. It saved our day. I highly recommend Tropical Trail Rides if you are going to be in the area.

Beautiful scenery, accommodating guide and tame, well maintained horses. Thanks for a great ride! Make sure you're there early for your ride. Often more than one or two parties in each group but felt personal anyway. Wear bug spray.

My daughters and I went on a morning beach trail ride. It was a beautiful way to start the day. Lovely scenery and peaceful ocean sounds. The staff did a great job of matching riders ability with horses. We got a little trotting and giddy up along the way.

My friend and I decided to ride with Tropical Trail Rides because we wanted to ride on the beach and we were not disappointed! For starters, the trail was very personal as it was only a couple and my friend and I. We were coming from the beach and the staff kindly let us use their restrooms to change and we had no problems with the payment or the waiver. We asked if we had time to grab something to eat real quick down the road, and--i believe her name was Elizabeth--said "yes, just be back in time!" Our ride was excellent! A lot of fun, the horses were great, Jeremy, our tour guide was very nice and the whole experience was excellent. We rode through a woods, a field, and on 2 beaches. We then took a break and hiked up mini mountain to a beautiful view where we took a lot of great pictures and headed back. Overall, no complaints, and a great time :)

We went there in early November. Due to the end of rain season, there were not many tourists. Our family was the only one in the morning of a weekday. Our 8 and 6 year old children liked the ridding very much. They ranked it's the best experience of the entire vacation in Puerto Rico.
