The view is spectacular, the gift shop is affordable, and you really can't say you've seen Berumuda until you've been to Gibb's Hill Lighthouse.Bring a camera.Make sure you have a lift back to town or your hotel at a set time.

It was unfortunately closed for renovations (workers said will be open in a couple of weeks) but the views were worth the hike any, plus we didn't have to find out whether we could then manage the walk to the top of it. Also enjoyed the Queen's plaque across the road.

We rode our mountain bikes up there - that's a hike but worth it. The lighthouse was closed and the restaurant all torn apart for renovations. I put good value because it was free. It would have been great to go up the light house, but this gives us a reason. To go back to Bermuda! ;)

Although the lighthouse was undergoing refurbishment during our visit, we enjoyed the walk from our hotel to the lighthouse. The lighthouse can be seen from our hotel with its light shining bright! The view from the base of the lighthouse are breathtaking, as you can see the many islands that make up Bermuda. We will visit again to climb to the top of the lighthouse.

The two storms that hit Bermuda last year have damaged the lighthouse, so I do not know whether they're started letting people climb the facility. The restaurant thee is fun and nice for a snack or breakfast. A great place to see the entire island on a clear day. Bring your camera with you, and you'll not be disappointed.

Not a bad staircase trip up. The building is very old. Once at the top! Unimaginable 360 degree views of Bermuda. Absolutely stunning. We did a scooter destination day and this was one of our first stops in the morning when the clouds were limited. Absolutely beautiful. Cheap admission price (rightfully so the building was well maintained for its age) and amazing to see in person.

Not far from the Fairmont Southampton is this historic sight. It dominates the local landscape and once you climb the hill you get great views of the whole island.

Great to have access to this lighthouse and a fairly easy walk to the top with lots of resting places. View from the top is fantastic but beware if it's a windy day you will really notice it at the top.

We went by bus ,so it drop you off on the main road ,and you have to walk to the lighthouse.Once we made it to the top the views of the island are awesome, the lighthouse is cool to but if you seen one you've seen them all.to me it's all about the views up here,if you don't feel like walking take a cab to the top off the hill.

We tried to visit during our trip in January, but the lighthouse was closed. There was nothing on their website to indicate this - in fact, it specifically says closed in *February*. When we got there, there was no sign saying it was closed or when it would re-open. The hours were listed and it should have been open. There was some construction work being done on the building containing the gift shop, but not substantial enough to warrant full closure. The restaurant was also completely closed. Nonetheless, the views from Gibb's Hill were fabulous and worth the walk up, although I wouldn't take the bus all the way across the island for it, as we did. Might be better if you're able to actually go up the lighthouse. Luckily the bathrooms were propped open for the construction workers, so we were able to use them. I'd suggest asking at a tourist information stand in the off-season just to be sure. It was definitely out of the way to get there and there are no other attractions within walking distance.*if you like my review, I hope you'll click the 'helpful' button; those of us who write reviews live for those and it motivates us to do more :) *

This was a pit stop on an island tour. The tour was booked through our cruise ship (Carnival) and made several stops. The lighthouse was quaint. We did not go up the lighthouse due to time restraints and cost, but even from the ground, the views were great. There are definitely better places to see, but this was a nice stop.

So glad a friend suggested to visit the Lighthouse in preparation of my participation in the Bermuda Marathon as a 10 k walker on Jan 18 :) http://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda_000030.htm I took my time getting to the top ! Loved chatting with the gentleman managing the Gift Shop .

Wow, wow, wow. Take the bus, walk the hill, climb the stairs and be amazed with the vistas. I am borderline terrified of heights but I walked the cat walk in strong winds and do not regret on single second of the experience. The beauty seen, wow.

We spend a month here every January and and we always enjoy visiting the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. The caste iron tower with the fresnel lighting system makes this tower worth visiting. It was constructed in England and then dismantled and shipped to Bermuda in the 1840's. The fresnel light was installed in 1904 and is still operational. The climb to the top is broken up with several landing that have the history of the lighthouse. And as all of the other reviewers have commented, the views both at the bottom and top are worth the visit.
