Beautiful country to ride through, spoiled by owner on the ride.Constant instructions "riding too fast" "riding too slow" don't do this, don't do that. Not to mention conflicting instructions. Seems like we were constantly been told off for something (Don't stop to admire the wallaby, don't turn to take a photo, don't ride with one hand on the reins)If we made a mistake in our riding we got the very condescending "I told you that before, or maybe you weren't listening" That was heard several times on the ride instead of just explaining or showing us again. Most of us were experienced riders, but if we didn't do something their way we were in trouble. (Its pretty hard to change a lifetime of habits in one afternoon after all...)Despite having experienced riders and one confident beginner, we did the three hour ride at a walk. When I questioned this, I cheerfully said that regardless of how nice a walk is, its still great fun to go for a run... I was subjected to an embarrassing tirade something along the lines of "WELL.. SORRY for being such a disappointment to you, SORRY it has been so terrible, if you want to go riding fast, get your own business and run it..." etc etc. All in a raised whingey voice..Left the whole group feeling very uncomfortable and leaving a young lady who was assisting on the ride apologising to me trying to tell me this bloke was all bark not bite.Sorry... but if you speak to people like that and bully them, no matter how nice your horses and countryside are, no-one is going to come back and pay money for a repeat performance. They said they were all about the horses comfort... but a few times I watched the owner slamming down on the reins because the horse he was leading was a bit reluctant. I would never have done that to my horse, or anyone elses I was lucky enough to ride.Another unprofessional point was the owner asking where we had ridden before, then running down that business (even tho he had never patronised them)One of our party members rode near the owner on the long walk back and had to listen to his conversation that really was inappropriate sexist comments about women. This is so unnecessary, and again, unprofessional. If people book a 3 hour trail ride and have riding experience, they probably want a little less military forced march with a drill sergeant barking commands at them. We felt uptight and unable to really enjoy the usual comradeship and fun of a ride, where breaking into a trot was close to being a capital offence!
