I already knew I liked rocks, but these look like works of art. The family who opened this museum found almost all the rocks and are more than happy to tell you the stories behind their discovery. Many of the stones are jasper- cut and polished to show the intricate colors. Chalcedony, agate, and crystal geodes are also on display. Don't pass up the free coffee either!

We were looking for the information center and folk museum down the street, so did not go in. Submitting this review so others at least know what this is, as the folk museum, and new (June, 2013) fishing exhibition are not highlighted online. The folk museum which is housed in the information center, is in the process of adding a lift, and has a small collection of items housed in a lovely period building. The exhibition shows the history of the herring industry in the area. The harbor hosts several active vessels, the catch from which is served in the restaurant up the hill. Killer good, fresh, food.
