WOW what a beautiful beautiful place. The stable is gorgeous as are the demonstrations done by the riders. Loved getting the chance to see it. Also interesting that our event riders for the World Equestrian Games in 2014 were practicing there and I missed them by a day or 2.

Well worth a visit, especially if you have youngsters with you. The horses are beautifully cared for and amazingly well trained. At peak times you may have a few minutes walk from the car park (some muddy areas if the weather has been wet)

Enjoyed the museum for what it was - I'm not a huge horse fanatic so it didn't capture my attention, but the museum is very well done, easy to get through in an hour and does have excellent exhibits.

Now I am not a horse lover, but this museum has much to recommend it. Firstly it is located in chantilly alongside the world famous race course. Secondly it is housed within the former stables of a Princes Chateau and thirdly it is interesting. For instance did you know the origin of the throughbred bloodline of horse - to find out visit the Musee.Although the Musee does not have food or toilets it is all on one level and easily accessed.

Brilliant entry through the stalls. You get a chance to see all the animals that will be in the Equestre Et Musical, if you are here on the right afternoon and have tickets. The reins and saddles are displayed, grooming might be taking place, or training. Many breeds and sizes of horses to see. Then you enter the displays of paintings , trophies, wagons, and learn about jockeys and their lore. An hour or two well spent as the Stable building dwarfs the Chateau in size, the passion here is the horses themselves.

I had a fantastic time here!If you are staying in Paris and would like a day away from the city to experience something a little bit different then this would be a perfect place for you to visit. The museum is great because it has interesting exhibitions and explains the history and changes horses have gone through; there is also an amazing ending performance which is definitely worth a watch.

A super experience, in a fabulous setting - the stables are absolutely amazing! Great exhibition, with all sorts of displays about horses (in both French and English), even down to the carousel variety! While there we also managed to get to the dressage 'master-class', which was great. This, though, is all in French, though, so you need to know a bit about horses and have a little French, at the same time!

If anything, I thought the stable block (if you can call it that, it's so grand!) was more impressive than the chateau across the road. As you enter the museum the stables are right in front of you, each stable home to a stunningly groomed steed. A little further along you will find a couple of shetlands and a donkey. From there you walk through the themed rooms, taking you through the lengthy history of the horse, from workhorse to racing. The finest part of the tour being the equine theatre which is decorated to an amazing standard. It must be quite something to watch a show there - sadly nothing scheduled during my visit. There is a little cafe on site but it was empty when I popped my head round the door and seemed rather functional rather than inviting. Nice little gift shop on exit. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The museum of the living horse - a strange title but rest place to visit. Your visit starts in the stables and as well as the superb horses, there are Shetland ponies, donkeys, a welsh pony etc. The museum is very modern and tells you the history of horses and their place in agriculture, war, ceremonial, sport etc. You can see the staff schooling the horses during your visit.Make sure you check on line before you go to find out the time of the dressage display as it is well worth it. It is included in e price. On certain days during the month there is a special show which costs extra.

Having owned and worked with horses all my life I was determined to visit Chantilly and the musee du cheval. The first place as soon as I paid my fee and went in was the stables with the horses. I loved seeing the really big, old fashioned stables and still in use. Below the entrance to the rooms set aside for the museum was an area where they put the smaller ponies of different breeds. This led on to the entrance for the indoor arena where they do the displays. The museum itself consisted of several rooms tracing the history of horses and equipment with some lovely carriages and tack bringing us up to the modern day. There were a few short films on different horse sports popular in France. In the outside arena I was able to watch some of the horses being trained and exercised prior to their performance later in the day.The racetrack also borders the museum and further up a long drive is the chateau itself. The only negative I found was that the museum did not open untill 10AM which I found quite late when I wanted to fit so much in elsewhere.

Om our first view of the stables we mistakenly thought it was part of the chateau; the stables are a beautiful tribute to the horse and the museum quite lovely. The show was long enough but as we were first arrivals we were shunted to the sides and tour bus passengers were given the best views. Seeing the horses in their stables after the show was great.

Interesting to visit the interiors of the castle, especially the library which is considered the second biggest after the National one.Stables and horses presentations-if you like these ones-is worth visiting. The round -using the small train-is nice for youngsters and less young too

A show that lasted 1hour very interesting the bits we could understand. The commentary was in french so most of it was lost on us.Had there been some way of translating show(i.e. by ear piece would of been much better)kids bored after 20mins which was a shame. As the skill involved in training horse was amazing

The museum is outstanding, entertaining and educational for children and adults alike. It provides a lot of interesting information about the relevance of the horse throughout history. The 30 minute exhibition of horse handling is most interesting.
