Probably the best cafe in the Forest of Dean. Warm and friendly with a big wood burning stove. We kept going back for the homemade soup and cakes and the sausage butties.

Reviewing this after our fifth visit so what's not to like. Well the maps are not great and our first visit everyone seemed to get lost. The family trail is fun and so scenic and the beautiful scent of Autumn is in the air. A deviation down to the lake for refreshments or bring your own picnic.Plenty of choice at the cafe and feed the ducks with your left overs. Parking at the cycle centre is very reasonable and the guys there are so helpful........ see though if you can spot the jobs worth. There is usually always one..

We hired bikes as 2 families so had 4 adults with tag a longs and one child riding their own bike. We were assured it was a fairly flat trail and helmets wouldn't really be required but we took them just to show the children good practice. They absolutely stunk and I wish I'd had our own. The trail is on a gradient and one family turned back after the first couple of miles as it felt like a slog but the rest of us carried on and decided to take a 'short cut'. This was hard to read on the map although we made it but there were definitely more hills, although it dropped the 10 mile trail down to 7 miles. It was mostly enjoyable but I had been expecting to be able to stop for a coffee and cake or ice cream on the way round to break it up a bit but this wasn't possible.I am sure for keen cyclists or people more prepared than us this is great and we would do it again but with a little more foresight.

Popped up once again with Ben for a session. He's trying to build up core strength this is an ideal place for it. He struggled on the climbs but enjoyed the flat and the downhills. I'm a regular I think we've hooked in another.

as a novice to mountain biking we found this whole setup really good, with a family loop of about 12 miles this was ideal for a shake down of my partners new bike.We spent a few hours gently roaming around the fairly gentle terrain before heading over to the blue run on the designated downhill course, this was a bit tougher and even though it seemed longer was only about 6 miles but with some steep hill climbs and fast descents. For a first timer my partner really enjoyed it,next target will be the red run and skills loopA very good setup with bike hire and service centre, plus the usual cafe and accessory shop.

we visited the cycle centre on Wednesday 17thn of sept. 7 adults and 2 toddlers. we chose to do the family ride, which is 17 k long. the first 5 k or so seemed to be all uphill, but the gradients were so easy, it wasn't a struggle.(2 of us are in our 60's and not avid cyclists), so if we can do it, anyone can. the ride is beautiful, on tracks through the forest. we took our time, and it took 2 hrs to complete the ride.we all enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. there are harder rides for the more discerning bikers, so there's something for everyone.

I haven't been here for years . what an improvement. The trails are amazing. They ride really well with some good fun downhill sections without being too challenging. No need to travel to the other trail centres anymore. Wish I had gone sooner. Good facilities with cafe toilets bike wash and bike shop. Worth the £3.50 to park. Looking forward to the enduro!!

This is fantastic for cycling. My 7 year old and us did the family route with a quick detour to Mallards Pike. Took us a couple of hours plus lunch - was really enjoyable. Suggest going North via Drybrook first to avoid having to go up the really steep gradient - cycling down is good fun! Plenty of little detours and places to stop for a breather! We had a great time!

A great mix of trails. Did the family trail today, which was perfect for what we were after. Only gripe is they definitely need to sign the route a lot better. Great day out.

Love taking the wife n little ones around the picturess family trails and i equally love getting air on the DH track or getting a sweat on the XC trails. Only place I prefer on the UK is 7 Staines in Glentress Scotland

hired bikes with our disabled son, they were fantastic at helping getting us going and were very flexible about when we returned the bikes understanding the 11 mile family trail could have taken us a bit longer.

I would highly recommend this.Very well organised, reasonably priced, nice bikes, and a great choice of tracks to ride on. We chose the 'reasonably difficult' loop, and they were not joking. Fortunately the bikes were up to the task, and so were we (just). The scenery is breathtaking, and it's worth taking a light picnic so that you can stop at the top and take it all in. A tremendous thing to do as a family, but if you're planning to do one of the more challenging tracks make sure that you're up for it.Incidentally, even though helmets are optional, make sure that you wear one. It's pretty steep in places.

This is the second time we've taken our Scouts during our Summer camp to Pedalabikeaway in the Forest of Dean. It did not disappoint. Splitting into two groups, for family and advanced routes the Scouts and Leaders thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved the fact that alongside the family course were trick and skill paths. We even stopped off by a lake for Lunch, Lovely. Would recommend to anyone for a great day out.

I love this place, if you havent been yet, GO! A great family route for all ages, lovely cafe with food and drinks, and a nice bike clothing/accesory shop. The trails them selves are amazing, the trail volunteers are alway keep them looking fresh and adding new bits to play on. Verdeners and free miner trails are fantastic both challenging and very rewarding.Get out on your bike and go !
