An ancient marvel right inside the town of Evora. I thought it was great and have fantastic pictures to prove it!!

Excellent and well preserved! So many temples and sites in Portugal are totally underrated, this is one example, it is right in the old part of the town and so easy to locate.

Nice and interesting ruin but nothing to make or break a visit to Evora. Simple columns and perhaps a photo but Evora offers more local and authentic architecture to get excited about.

To see the temple from the plaza and also to look at the Posada and other medieval buildings simultaneously is quite special.we are just passing through this life...reflections...

Just a short walk from the city center, you will find this lovely ruin. There is a small park behind it with nice views of the town. Also right next to Pousada Dos Loios which is a great place for dinner.

This was the reason why I wanted to go to Évora. The stunning ruins leave you in awe.I was not impressed with the fact that cars go freely next to it, maybe they should think about closing this whole area for pedestrians. Quick fact: it's actually not the temple of the goddess Diana, there is no evidence of it being a temple dedicated to her, but only a legend from a crazy priest from the 17th c.

Beautiful construction of this majestic temple with Corinthian columns in the heart of the town. It was a great placed to sit down and take a rest after visiting the Bones Chapel.

This is a small scale of Roman ruin located in the center of the old town which you will not miss while you walk around. Not too much to admire. Just one of the points to take pictures. Night time picture would be even better as it is lighted up.

Time permitting Evora, capital of the Alentego, is a small city that is well worth visiting. It has a number of monuments, churches, ancient walls and other marvels to be visited including the magnificent ruins of this roman temple built in the the first century AD. Located in the heart of the olden part of the town it is an easy walk to many of the other things to visit. A handful of excellent restaurants are there as is the magnificent Parador de Loios (national hotel chain) that was once a monastery.

It is a great place to contemplate the old Roman temples, and I am really happy to see that it has been preserved. I wished the illumination at night was better, since all the castle walls are in deed well illuminated.

Touted as the one of the best preserve Roman temple ruins, the state of preservation is nice but somewhat disappointing. A few columns on a pedestal...but, be it as it may, the location on the sauce surrounded by the other architectural treasures is well worth visiting

Nice interesting City with a lot to see this is impressive and so is the aqueduct , the city is compact and quite easy to get about.

Unusual to see these ruins in the middle of the city.I think the restoration was worth doing. A little odd to see a cafe next to all this beauty which takes away from a time when seeing the ruins and trying to recapture that moment in that time..Saying all this I believe it's worth stopping by to take a look.

Got into Evora in the early evening and found the Temple at night during first exploration of the town. Beautifully light and made for some nice photos. Immediate sense of the history of Evora.

The Temple of Diana is one of the most famous sites in Evora, if not in all of Portugal. From the second century AD this temple is a lovely site to visit in your explorations of this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city. The temple is easy to find, right next to Evora's well known pousada, and is probably one of Evora's most photographed spots, judging by all the tourists snapping away (myself included). Well worth a visit.
